and that’s ok. Ty’s ability to accurately throw over the LBs in the middle will keep them from attacking the middle run. It would be different if we had a game breaker at rb. Let’s play to our strengths, QB and WR. Give him time and he will pick you apart. He will learn from today about taking bad sacks.

I've said it a lot recently: we don't need to be the 2012 run game but we do need a complimentary run game. Still need to see them trust our OL and RB to get a tough yard between the tackles. However what we got today was what I'm talking about...get those yards when they're playing a deep split safety look and lots of zone.

I thought other than a couple of times we got cute on 3rd down and a couple of series when we abandoned the running game, that Grubb called a good game. Felt like Jam should’ve gotten a few more carries in the 3rd quarter, but they made up for it in the 4th

Kind of but when you count jet sweeps and screens as part of the run game(heard McElroy make this point), Bama is probably pretty balanced.

Exactly, what I was going to say. We've only thrown the ball <20 times more than running this year. Once you add the screens from the UGA game. I do think we are fairly balanced.

The RBs averaged 5.6 yards per carry today. Solid stuff. Very effective.

Jam looked really good today, as in healthy. He seemed to be running with more power, making the right cuts and locating the hole better. That’s encouraging, gonna put pressure on teams to respect the run more & hopefully open up the passing game going forward.

That disparity comes almost entirely from one game. To avoid PTSD, I won't say which one but it involves free shoes.
ULM 36 runs 33 passes
Wisky 22 runs 30 passes
Georgia 38 runs 39 passes
Vandy 38 runs 31 passes
Total - 134 runs 133 passes. Kneel downs and sacks add some runs that weren't really runs but generally that's about as even as you can get.

We need to be a ball control offense. Long time consuming drives. Keeping our D off the field as much as possible.
