Man, its good to see how our support has grown over the last few years. I credit it mostly to Carter. He did the impossible. He moved the earth and really worked damn hard to get us in a winning spot. He's the first AD in my lifetime that decided to turn on the sleeping machine of Ole Miss. I'd also, and this is going to piss some of you off, credit the beginning to Hugh Freeze. Hugh grew up an Ole Miss fan. It was his dream job and he showed us a taste of what we could be. Now aside from his obvious flaws that led to his departure, you have to respect how he made us a winner. He took us to two NY6 bowls, had us ranked #4, and won the Sugar Bowl for the first time since the 70s. That gave our fanbase the appetite to seek a winner. We didnt put up with Matt Luke and even broke the GOB network on that one. Enter Lane Kiffin, the man had his foot out the door at the beginning but I think we really won him over. But we also made it possible by giving him the tools and support to succeed. Now when you go to a game, it's loud and our fans participate. It's always good to be in a loud sellout crowd.

Anyway, we've come a long way and I love being decent in all 3 big sports.

Enjoyed reading that. Keith is no doubt a stud. CHF kicked the door open, CML did his best to keep it from closing with some decent offensive recruiting and CLK has potentially removed the door from the hinges. Would love to win an SEC championship sooner than later to get that monkey off our back.

If CLK truly wanted to top or at least parallel Sabans lore and legacy he could just win a couple of nattys at ole miss which is > than Winning 6 nattys at Alabama. I think if he sticks with it he can do it maybe even with Knox at QB.

Even though the product on the field sucked, we do owe Coach O some credit for getting our recruiting network in order

Absolutely. We never hired him to actually win. We hired him to rebuild an empty roster left over by Cut. He did what he was supposed to do....we just hired the wrong guy after O.

I still, to this day, don't understand why we hired Nutt.

You’re all right not to get all pedantic. The butterfly effect of Nutt works too. If he doesn’t sign those 2010 and 2011 classes freeze never gets off the ground. Most of the contributors in 12 and 13 were Hootie recruits. Same for Nutt with O’s recruits and Lane with Luke’s. Corral doesn’t fight his high school coach he doesn’t end up our QB. O in the meat market days really set the stage for actually being relevant again. I remember me and Reggie Ray worrying about Rishaw Johnson back in 07 man times have changed.

Yeah. We've found a winning spirit and its like the fanbase just really all came together at the same time. Our games are LOUD even though our stadium is smaller than others.

I guess its just the first time in all my years that the fanbase has fully woken up.

Everything changed when Freeze lead us to those wins over Bama

I remember when I was a kid getting a big win over a top 5 team was the pinnacle of a great season.

Freeze showed us we could build a program that could consistently compete with the top programs.

Kiffin has actually turned us into one of the top programs.

Never thought I’d see the day that Ole Miss had a better program than Florida Tennessee and Auburn while being on the same level as LSU.
