We’ve watched the UA screw up football coach searches for the last 13 years. Don’t expect much to change this time around.

I’ll get my hopes up, be disappointed, make excuses for the hire, and there’s nothing you can do about it

When Bobby got fired, all the buzz going around was we were hiring Gundy. I was so excited for the press conference just to hear John L Smith get announced.

Now that Gundy is probably past his prime, I fully expect us to go after him.

Do what? JL SMith was the interim only, right? Gundy wouldn't have been a interim coach bro...

What the....

He got hired in April that year. Wasn't like he was named interim during the season.

Who knows, maybe I'm getting confused with one of the other hiring since then. Crazy when you think of it, but counting Bobby (now) and Smile, but we're on our 5th head coach since we fired Bobby 14 years ago. What a shiteshow.

Hunter has had 2 shots at this, and he completely blew it with Lane. He should be let go and have no ability to touch this hire.

You are correct, but Hogville sold it as if this worked out, he could get it full time. When it was nothing more than a pay off his debts move.

Then they said Gundy and Gus for sure. Because Gus, Gundy and Gruden come up every search.

Can we give Bobby the power to fire HY? That would be AWESOME.,

Chad, I know he wasn’t the ring leader, but he signed off on the shite show. You’re telling me he was an AD at another school and didn’t have a list? And if he did, was Chad on it? If not that means Chad wasn’t good enough for Houston, but he allowed him to come here.

Not to mention, if we had gotten Bear in our first attempt prior to WW2, he probably would've left when Bama called him up anyway. He might've been an Arkansas native, but he had a strong love for his alma mater. Remember what he said about taking the Bama job,

quote:

I left Texas A&M because my school called me. Mama called, and when Mama calls, then you just have to come running.

I don't think there's anything indicating his response would've been any different if he'd been at Arkansas rather than A&M.

Also, I've tried looking it up, did Arkansas try recruiting him out of high school?

Eta, I guess it could've been one hell of a run from 1941- 1958 until he went to Bama.

Yurachek was hired 2 days before Chad Morris was. The wheels were in motion to hire CM before HY was hired.

At this point I don't care. His approach to NIL was a total disaster. Ray Charles knew we were going to start paying players.
