During the lows of lost from Bert on, normally it was October before the basketball threads started.

I'm for it.

Even during the chaggy years it was mid October before most gave up and would be pissed about discussing basketball during football season.

so, let's discuss this just a bit. I haven't seen them in the title hunt talk, or even in the top 10 hardly anywhere. Is this truly your belief, or just talking season?

Last years squad was over hyped preseason.

This years squad is being overlooked.

If they can stay healthy and gel together on the court a NC isn't out of the picture talent wise. This years squad had what last years was missing IMO.

That's going to be BIG. Trevon has first round talent. We need Maui Trevon.

Trevon looked incredible in those practice clips.

It’s not all preseason based hype. He was really good at the end of last year.

I absolutely believe they can win it all. Good mix of returnees, experience, and one and dones.

On3 has us #12 preseason, good enough for meaningless preseason polls. Florida was #21 preseason last year and won it all.

quote:

12. ARKANSAS
Projected Starters

G Darius Acuff
G DJ Wagner
G Karter Knox
F Trevon Brazile
C Nick Pringle

Most of last season was a major disappointment for John Calipari and the Razorbacks, but they came on at the end of the year and made some noise in the postseason. The good news for Cal is that he has done something rarely seen from him – he returned a bunch of players from last year’s team. Wagner is back and has really progressed over the last year. Knox and Richmond both have a year of experience in college and Brazile found his footing towards the end of the season. Arkansas also hit the portal to add a couple of proven big men in Florida State transfer Malique Ewin (14.2 ppg, 7.6 rpg) and South Carolina transfer Nick Pringle (9.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg). Calipari also went to his old standby, landing a couple of the most talented freshmen in the country with Acuff and Meleek Thomas. Acuff could be the key, an athletic point guard who thrives in transition and can make something out of nothing.

Rothstein tweeted out the other day

Well embedded moles in Fayetteville have sent word that Nick Pringle has been the early surprise at Arkansas. 6-10 veteran has Final Four experience from his time at Alabama. Remember The Name.

Him and the fsu kid down low with last years Brazile, an improved Knox, Richmond as 6th man of the year, and Wagner/Acuff. Sounds good to me. Plus Cal has scheduled on hell of a preseason to get them ready for conference play. Win half of this and our net will be stacked.

The only thing that remains incomprehensible to me is that we didn’t address our lack of shooting. And it’s not like we didn’t have room on the roster (maybe NIL is another story but that’s a crying shame if so). Last year, we had 7 rotation players (8 including Boogie) and everyone, including Cal, talked about how that was sort of a failed experiment. This year we are looking at 8 once again. We absolutely had room to add a knockdown shooting wing and I hate that we didn’t.
