Enough with the fricking Lane talk. Can we be realistic for once? Here's the list:

Athlon Sports Ranks the Sunbelt Head Coaches for 2025

1. GJ Kinne
2. Bob Chesney
3. Charles Huff
4. Butch Jones
5. Clay Helton
6. Major Applewhite
7. Michael Desormeaux
8. Ricky Rahne
9. Bryant Vincent
10. Tim Beck
11. Dell McGee
12. Gerald Parker
13. Tony Gibson
14. Dowell Loggains

This will be the guy as the UAA believes it would make a smooth transitions since there will be “familiarity with the offensive system”

Ryan Silverfield (Memphis) and Sumrall (Tulane) are going to be on the top of a lot of lists.

We'll take the bottom of that list, for sure.

Lol, UF fans may riot if our next coach comes from that conference.

zero % chance
For some reason insiders say he’ll never coach at UF
Not sure why but it’s a pretty widely held consensus

Ryan Silverfield (Memphis)

Honestly, i dont see it. He's already had some really good seasons here and hasnt been on anybody's radar. I think the closest mention was Indiana a few years ago where his name popped up for a brief period. I think he benefits more from the players Memphis is able to get vs the competition than being a good coach. Dont get me wrong, ive seen the other end of it and ill take a 8-4 type coach all day long but i just dont think hes that good. I guess i could see a mid tier p4 taking a flyer on him but i dont think any big time job is going to go after him (ala Norvell and FSU)

Florida hired Billy Gaypier from ULL they’d consider hiring a coach from Memphis as the same level as hiring Andy Reid

He's a clone of Norvell. Believe me, if you can win at Memphis, you can win just about anywhere.

It will most likely be the rumored coaches

Lane Kiff
Jedd Fisch
Dan Lanning
Matt Campbell
Alex Golesh

I would bet Alex is the best bet. I obviously want Lane but hey.

lol, wut? We've already had 2 better coaches hired away, that dread faded when Norvell left. Not afraid of losing a coach some of the fans have dubbed Ruin. Even then im pretty certain we wont even have a D1 football program in the next 10 years, so theres that too

That line of thinking is about 10+ years past its prime. Once the admin decided to actually put money in football over basketball, turns out its not as hard to win in the leagues we play in as previously thought
