How much would that change your opinion on Pittman? Because if he won the 1 score games that he lost and lost the 1 score games he won (flippy floppy), that would be his record. Instead of 32-32.
So when people ask why I and others keep harping on it, that’s why.

Obviously it would be different.
What is his record in one score games?
How many one score games did previous HCs have, what was their record?
Keeping it close is different then winning close games.

37-27
That would be his record if he just broke even in them.

Had I only checked the score on Sunday morning, I would have thought 41-35 is about right. But having seen how it happened, it doesn't seem right. Since the score doesn't tell the whole story, I can't answer except to say, of course I'd be happier with Sam if he had a winning record. And, I need to quit watching the games.

Since joining the SEC Arkansas is 101-112 in one score games. This is a problem beyond Pittman. Petrino was 11-10. Pittman is just another in a long list of average coaches at Arkansas. It's what we are, average to before average in an extremely difficult conference.

That’s 50:50… sam is 28%
Big difference

quote:you’re proving his point. Pittman is nowhere close to 50/50 in toss up games which is where statistically you should be.
Petrino was 11-10

Far enough, my perception was Petrino was better than the statistical facts in one score games.
Someone who has time needs to post Nutts record because my perception is Sam in equal to Nutt in this regard. Statically this perception may also be wrong, it's a curiosity for me.

Nutt was 23-16 in one possession games I believe. Better than Petrino even. Someone fact check me

My count has Nutt at 21-19 in his career in one score games. I didn’t look at just SEC games, just overall which includes bowl games.

So Nutt and Petrino were both 52% win clip in one possession games. Sam is 28% bert was 30%. Which checks out. Sam is basically Bert 2.0
If sam had the same percent as Nutt and Petrino he’d be 13-12 in one possession games. 6 more wins over his tenure equals to basically one more win per season.

Sam is not the problem.
Money is the problem. We have enough to be good…but not great.

Oh I wasn't saying he was, I worded that wrong if that's how it came across.

So really 03-05 is all that was looked at when people were bitching non-stop back in 06 and 07 about how horrible his coaching was in of it was close he was going to lose, grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory, etc. this was probably warranted with how he talked about keeping it close to have a chance to win at the end all the time.
I knew petrino was close to 500 and these games were the difference in a mediocre season and a great season his last year.
I hadn't payed any attention to just how bad Bert was in these games because it felt like most of these games were a result of a much larger lead being blown resulting in a close loss.
Sams losses feel like most have occured from big plays given up at the end of the game on defense or turnovers and penalties when with the ball with a chance to win.

This is the shittiest take of all time.
If you are in one score games, and lose 72% of them, it’s on the coach not the players.

A lot of this is Sam too, Texas a&M (kj leap), been up on Missouri a couple scores a bunch of times then the 4th qtr shoot outs. He did the same thing against Kansas in the bowl game.

Sorry to break the news but, Sam's record as HC isn't good at all.
