Might as well start looking ahead to the Alabama game

It's our next game, so frick it.
From an atmosphere standpoint, it's probably a good thing that Bama lost to Florida State and Bama fans still aren't sure if their team is good or not, which means they won't buy as many tickets.
One of the big things we got going for us is that our defense got embarrassed and got their pride hurt against Tennessee. Kirby said after the game that the defense "heard all week about how great they were" before the Tennessee game. They should have Kirby and Schumann's full attention in practice these next two weeks and it will be intense. A pissed off defense if the best defense.
Ty Simpson looks like Mac Jones all of a sudden, even though they played ULM two weeks ago and apparently Wisconsin sucks now. Who really knows.
I think that Deboer is one of the top big game coaches in college football. He was undefeated against ranked opponents at Washington and was money in the bank against Oregon. He definitely had his team ready to go against us last season.
Bama fans right now are griping about their offensive line and their running game. But Deboer didn't need much of a running game to win when he was at Washington.
I don't think that our players will feel any Alabama voodoo or put extra pressure on themselves to beat Alabama, because they're players and not fans, and fans are the ones who get into those narratives. Most of our players weren't even on the team the last time we played Saban.
Point spread is 4.5 right now.

Both teams have problems. I think the crowd will be the difference. I expect the rowdiest crowd ever, I call out the students and fans and urge our down in fronters to sell their tickets to loud and proud fans.
Our blitzes have to get home and our dbs and Oline need to make a huge jump in execution.

Dawg fans did an elite job of not selling tickets for the Tennessee game that onetime when Tennessee was ranked number 1 for 4 days.
I genuinely didn't see a Tennessee fan in my entire section.
It will probably look and feel like that Tennessee game. Except it will be at night and hopefully it doesn't start raining.

I hope it surpasses that atmosphere which is a big ask. Loud and proud the entire time Bama is on O.

Teams generally improve after their first game. Georgia can believe this was our first game and the defense has learned and will improve. Same for the OL. We saw some backups play pretty good and maybe they will be starting, or at least be off the bench fast if we have problems there,
I think the Austin Peay game was just because the coaches were preparing for Tennessee.

I wasn't at the Auburn blackout game, but that Tennesee game was 100 percent the most juiced up I've ever seen Sanford Stadium. When Bullard got that second sack after it started raining, shite!

07 AU (to begin with, not sustained throughout though IMO)
13 LSU
19 ND
21 Arky
22 Tenn
All noteworthy big time noise atmospheres. I fully expect bama and texas to be up there with them

I think we win this one due to home crowd.
However, I am severely concerned with Bama's WR's cooking Harris and Robinson in this game. Looking similar to what Tenn did.
I would love to see Kirby go after Ty Simpson and not let him just pick us apart. I am tired of seeing just straight ahead running into the Oline and no creativity. We have the horses, use them some at least on scheming some timed blitzes.
It's possible Kirby has been holding this back in the first 2 games and the last game the O scheme by Tenn didn't allow for us to do it.
Release the hounds for fricks sake on Simpson, FSU did

Most lit game I have ever witnessed in ~30 years of going to home games.

Probably going to have to win another shootout
If we can't get pressure and those WR are running all over the field I don't feel bullish about our defense. Feel like our LBs still struggle in zone coverage. Jam miller will be back...think he was the one who cooked CJ in the SECCG in '23.
On the plus side, Simpson isn't milroe with his feet, so I hope Kirby considers going against his normal MO and brings some blitzes if Simpson shows he can sit back and pick us apart.
Deboer and Grubb scare me with their eye candy and playcalling. Lot of conflict creation.
This is where a Venables esque game plan would be more successful imo. Be aggressive, frick it.

I wasn't a fan of all the dancing and prima donna stuff that the 2007 team had, but it was definitely a memorable game.
Dancing and primping and getting cool mohawks for games was cool until the 2008 funeral game and the 2009 Arizona State game, when we were losing in the second half and ESPN panned to our players dancing and dryhumping the hedges on the sidelines.
Thank god for Kirby.

Tennessee's last touchdown was way too wide open, but the other two long TD catches were just some ghost of Randy Moss type shite. Brazzell, whoever the hell Brazzell is, has to be a high first round pick. I think that Ellis Robinson's recovery speed was almost too good, because he was so caught up that he sort of got disoriented and didn't know hot to react. And then Harris was right there in perfect position but Brazzell turned into Randy Moss again.
But I agree 100 percent about the pressure. I don't know if we put Aguilar on his arse the whole game. We were doing the same delayed double A gap blitzes that we always do that don't ever seem to lead to sacks.

TNs veteran QB made some great plays. Hooker, Milton, Nico, all missed the long balls vs UGA. This kid put the ball on the money, luckily so did Stockton.

True on the Brazell guy, but Bama has two of those guys. Ryan Williams made our guys look like newborn fawns last year. These guys are freaks.
Harris especially was in great position and looked smooth running...Brazell ust Moss'd his arse.
Kj had a couple of bad mistakes too. Idk...I just have visions of WR streaking open with Grubb. They owned Dan Lanning...that's why a tendency buster style of gameplan would be wise to me. Think Kirby is too hard headed though (deserved btw).
We will man up the WR and try to get home with 4-5 rushers

I hate to even put this in writing but unless Milroe and Saban run out if that tunnel I think we win this one running away.
Sanford will be lit for a 730 kick
Against FSU and Wis Bama rushed for under 100 yds so they’re pretty one dimensional - which plays into Kirby’s hands
Simpson was seeing ghosts against FSU and we can get to him at least as well as FSU
We don’t have to worry about him running off for 75 yds so none of this double spy contain bullshite
Bama gave up 200 on the ground against FSU and a little less than 100 against Wisconsin
This team is 2 years removed from “The Process”
I think we lean on them early and begin to run at will as the game progresses. If our secondary can defend against the deep ball and our Oline is healthy we will terrorize Simpson and cover by rushing for 200 yds.

Getting off to a fast start is imperative. Fall behind early and that "oh shite, here we go again" feeling will creep in very quickly.
