I wish I was a student now

Don’t know why. I guess the rise in enrollment and CLK/football. Also the square is better than when I was there.

2012 and 2013 were pretty fun

Student tickets done on a lottery now I would imagine? That would give me a lot of anxiety.

Same, I think I paid like $15 for student season tickets back in 96.

Should be first come first serve

Eh. I disagree. If they’re easy to get then you’ll have people who don’t really give a shite about the game get tickets from someone that would otherwise be more invested in the game than the social aspect of it

They just need to raise the back of the student section and add 5,000 seats. My OCD hates how the top of that endzone is so much lower than the rest of the stadium. Just build it on top of the Starnes Center. Or better yet, tear down the Starnes Center and move that stuff somewhere else.

I thought it was common knowledge that building was a gift and cannot be torn down.

I know. I do not care. It's in the way and needs to go. It's just an old weight room, trophy room upstairs, and some offices. The real reasonit stays is that part of it is the old field house that was here when Vaught was here.
Still... in the way and needs to go.

What was OM like in ‘96?
Party school like you haven't seen since. They started cracking down on that in 97.

I have always thought the 90s was the best decade to be a student.

How about school? Ole Miss is notorious for having below average academics.

I got there in 2008. Worked on the grounds crew. Didn't need tickets. Got to the stadium an hour early and a full timer opened a locked gate and let us walk in. (They made cash off of my friends). No bag checks. All the booze we needed. It was awesome.
I also wish I was there right now.

That must depend on the major. The Pre med route was tough

We probably crossed paths. I worked in the AD starting in 2009.

I had older brothers that attended OM in the late 90s and got to stay in Oxford with them a good bit before my freshman year in 2000. I can confirm that it was pretty damn awesome. I know having siblings there and the name recognition the comes along with that helped but most every hot girl looked you in the face and talked to you. Even if they had no attraction or interest in you. They'd carry on conversations and make eye contact with you while you bought them a drink.

I feel like ~’08 was the sweet spot. We’d all be fricked with social media now

It was great. Just enough social media but not where everyone was so overly obsessed with their phones while being out.
And being friends with all of the sports marketing girls was incredible. No cover anywhere we went and skipped every line.
