5 years later.... looking back at now basically one of our best athletic years since 2012.

Between COVID madness and, all the winning, must have been a hell of a time to graduate.

My son's high school senior baseball season was in 2020, and he and every other high school senior athlete that year got absolutely hosed by society's overreaction to a bad cold.
Ripple effects lasted even longer

This angers me so badly. Kids couldnt play their senior year of baseball because boomers were afraid of a cold

I graduated in ‘22. Was there for 3 SEC championships, 3 Natty appearances, 1 Natty win, and 2 Heismans. I was lucky to hit the tail end of the dynasty.

Seems like the worst time to be in college to me

Not necessarily. My oldest daughter was a freshman at Bama that year, worked in the athletic department, and got to be around arguably one of the best college football teams ever assembled. Undefeated through an exclusively SEC schedule and whipped the Buckeyes for a natty and nobody even came close to beating that team except Florida. The Slim Reaper won the Heisman the Biletnikoff and the Maxwell, Mac Jones won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm and Davey O’Brien, Najee won the Doak Walker, Alex Leatherwood won the Outland, and Big Dickerson won the Rimington.
And the basketball team made it to the Elite 8 for only the second time ever to that point after winning the SEC regular season and tournament. So while she missed some things like a normal rush, caught COVID and had to quarantine here at home, she got to be a part of an extraordinary year for the athletic department.
She quit her job there at the end of that year and things haven’t been quite right or that good ever since.

So didn’t get to live a normal college life but hey at least she caught some good sports on tv!

Op also referred to people who were seniors in 2020-21. I couldn’t imagine my junior/senior year being shutdown

The quarantine was only for about a week. She was very involved in the Mal Moore building that year.

Yeah see my edit. Your daughters experience doesn’t really apply to OP

I just want to clarify I’m not trying to be an arse. I just couldn’t imagine being in college while everything was shutdown. Especially during my junior/senior year. I don’t care how successful the teams were, that would suck arse

Dunno but I see secession happening in wake of a economic crisis.
