So my big concern with Oline,

Continues to be blown assignments and bad angles for blocks as the plays evolve down field.
Seems like that should be fixable.

Very weak at the tackle spot. Doesn’t appear to have changed from ND.

Agree 100%, so that’s not my biggest concern. That would, without a doubt, be the overall health of the room, how long Gaston and/or Greene may be out, etc. A more or less healthy OL is going to be crucial down the stretch.

RT. Freeling at LT looked awesome.

Well one of them was by a true freshman. It will get better

I’m sure i will get down voted here, but if you watch game film…. Which people who play(ed) football did/do, you will find that you can fix stuff on damn near every play. That is good. You should always be trying to get better. That is not an indictment of your play. You can have positive and even very positive plays and still have plays on film that you could have done better or more. Point is, striving for perfection is the goal you want to set. Yet, guys not making a second block or not getting full squared shoulders on a pass off is not the end of the world. It happens a lot as the defense is trying too.

Every article or video I've read or saw that talked about Monroe Freeling was singing his praises. What exactly did he do to disappoint?
Smart himselt mentioned that Hughly did good filling in for Greene when he went out.
Clarify your statement, for those of us without Phd's in footballology.

Are you people blind? I think you’re spending way too much time with PFF and dumbass bloggers.
We couldn’t push Marshall around in the run game, and Gunner often didn’t have a clean pocket when he dropped back. Against a very bad team. Say what you want. It’s not rocket science. Why don’t you bookmark this and come back mid season and tell me I was right.

There was a ton of great blocking. Are your expectations we push everyone 7 yards down field every play? You make vague references, but no content. You’ll see isn’t a proof source.

I think we have slightly improved. Still a lot of of short yardage issues, though.

No, but it was Marshall for crying out loud. There were some issues.

Yep. Contrast it with the season opener against Oregon. Nuff said.

Well, that settles it. We should all start a petition to send to Kirby and let him know that he should fire these coaches and former NFL consultants who work in football and get paid big money to do it for a living, and fire them and hire you since you obviously see what's REALLY going on and they are all completely oblivious to these things.

I think this is it exactly. Same way a lot folks expect our QB to put up 2019 playoff Joe Burrow stats every game, the defense to get 8 sacks a game and shut everyone out etc.
Some of these folks are apparently tougher to please than CKS & Nick Saban

I was a hoops guy so I rely on film breakdown from knowledgeable people for football X’s & O’s. It seems like the critiques of the o-line are often rudimentary stuff that the guys should be coached out of by their upperclassmen years in college - probably sooner. I have my doubts about Searels, but at the same time I don’t know enough to say for sure.

Film is going to show some missed blocks today. Not sure how many players are 2nd string playing . I think 2 starters are out which not helping.
