You have passing defense twice. Our run D sucked total arse. I'd have to go A on special teams. KC got the TD and Bussey had some nice returns. I just hope Elko is right in that the problems that he saw on defense are correctable.

I only got to see parts of the game. But I saw a vastly improved WR corps and we were playing a competent opponent. After that TD run to start the 3rd qtr, the defense got the memo and played better.

The old saying is the most improvement comes between games 1 and 2. I want to see that.

Overall, from what I saw, was a typical opener. Some bright spots along with plenty to gripe about and plenty of room for improvement.

They’ve been correctable for over 20 years now.

I agree with these - but I do think our running offense was purposely vanilla as we were keeping Moss’s load light.

I don’t disagree with that. Moss will rush for 150+ at ND

If you’re watching the ND game vs Miami with Coach Klein….

He is seeing the ND pass defense presenting multiple opportunities

I think it was less about keeping the RBs’ load light and more about getting Reed and the receivers a lot of reps.

It is encouraging how much better the D played in the second half, barring the explosive TD.

We’re all looking past USU, but it’s an important game. If the score is similar to the one we had against UTSA, we can expect another 8-4 season or worse. If we blow them out of the water and then go beat ND…then we can start to have some hope.

Didn’t get to watch the full game but from what I saw over the last 2 Weeks seems like Reed has improved nicely as a passer. Having two studs at WR helps. I also understand the quality of opponent isnt great but it’s better imo than years past where we really struggle with an inferior opponent for 3 1/2 quarters

Very impressed with our pass game and the play calling. Marcel's completion % was low, but only because we were going for it. A few balls that were almost TDs but were too long and even then - much better to be long than short.
