Texas should roll considering how few starters return for Ohio State.
But I never underestimate Texas's ability to choke in a big game.
Thus I will go with Ohio State winning a close game.

What say you ?

24 Texas
19 Ohio State

I don't see Ohio State's offense as good as they were in the playoffs last year, and I think our defense will be close to as good as last year. On the other side of the ball, I think Arch gives us more firepower, but he will also make some mistakes as he is finding his feet. The game is in Columbus, so that is obviously in favor of the Buckeyes, but Texas has a nice road streak going..

Gameplan:
1) Avoid Caleb Downs
2) Make someone not named Jeremiah Smith beat you..

I like our chances, but it's the 1st game, so who knows..

Series is tied 2-2 All Time

Texas being favored now will probably really piss off tOSU. Question is how quickly Texas does its annual choke. But the media is ready to crown Arch without a snap played

Could go full Homer and say 29 -12 Texas.

Truth is….

So, I’m going to throw a mess of ribs on the grill, start drinking early, and hang on for the ride.

I'd say both teams have a lot of turnover. 26 draft picks between the two squads and as of right now, 32 players from the two teams are still on an NFL roster.

To me that's one of the most interesting storylines of the game. Who replaces all that talent the most effectively in the season opener?

Arguably Ohio State choked against Oregon and Michigan. I don't think Ryan Day gets to call himself a big game hunter just yet. Sarkisian has had success on the road in the last couple of years.

I think Texas DL versus Ohio State's OL is the most lopsided matchup in the game. Although I don't have a great feeling right now about UT's OL versus OSU's DL, either.

I believe Texas will be better on the line of scrimmage, and that's going to be the difference in a one score game. 24-17 Texas.

Ohio State lost by 1 at Oregon during the regular season & then beat Oregon by 11 Billion in the playoffs.
Kind of silly to talk about Ohio State choking vs Oregon last season.

I'm not ready to crown Arch yet, but you've gotta think his experience over a kid whose thrown 12 passes in his college career gives them an edge going into the game.

This sure seemed boneheaded at the time to me.

RB's Henderson and Judkins are gone.
Starting QB is gone.
Plus I think they lost a bunch of OL.
I don't know what they have at WR besides Smith, but I'm guessing they are good.
I would focus on stopping their WR's and make them prove they can run the ball.

I'm almost over this game already. Maybe because I loathe both programs about equally. And these 2 teams do not resemble the ones that played in the CFP. Texas probably has the edge, but will Sark blow it again with stupid play calls in crunch time if there is a crunch time?

I'm more looking forward to Clemson-LSU to be honest.

Carnell Tate is really good. He was the leading receiver in the playoffs against Texas. Inniss is going to be good. He's the third receiver. Their room is really deep, too. I don't know how Hartline will be as an offensive coordinator (I believe Ryan Day will actually call the plays, although they haven't said that) but he's a heck of a WR recruiter and developer.

They also have Max Klare, the transfer from Purdue, who is one of the best tight ends in the country. Probably the best, now that Tyler Warren is off to the NFL from Penn State.

ESPN was laughing at Cowboys fans for predicting that the Dallas Cowboys are going to tank the season so they can draft Arch.
The only thing he's accomplished to date is having Manning on his jersey.

I got Texas winning. No way the no1 ranked team loses on opening game. That would make the ranking people look stupid as hell….but they don’t know sh!t anyway

There's a funny twitter account that follows the Saints, where Arch Manning is from. When Archie Manning came out recently that his grandson would be staying at Texas another year (Arch Manning himself later denied it, saying he hasn't made any kind of decision one way or another) the Saints fan said something along the lines, "We'll be bad then, too. We can do this all day."
