Another reason the Big12 is not a "power" conference: The Nebraska "at" Cinci game tonight

Nebraska and Cincinnati previously scheduled a home and home back in 2013.

Then, after joining the Big 12, Cinci announced last December they are moving their home game 9 hours away to Kansas City a short drive to Omaha so they can fill Arrowhead with Nebraska fans. Arrowhead is paying Cinci 75% of the gate to be their home venue for the night.

Yet the Big 12 and loud mouth Brett Yormark want us and the CFP committee to consider them as equals.

Nobody considers them equal. The B1G and SEC literally control the CFP and the rules.

Their two biggest programs, often considered Blue bloods, left them for the SEC.

That's the only reason needed to explain why they are a lower-tier conference.

Only a matter of time before the ACC “big dogs” move out for greener pastures

I wonder if Florida will try to block FSU from entering? Or will higher powers in the SEC just overrule them?

Cincy is a respectable G5 school. Which is where, in a just world, they would still be. In the big leagues they are lacking.

Let us be honest. The PAC and Big 12 are dead. Just kill them off. The AAC, MWC, Sun Belt (how did they get good?) and others are perfectly fine landing places for folks.

From what I've read the UF admin and most fans have no issue with it.

The state mandates that they play every season so it really wouldn't be a big deal from a schedule perspective, and FSU would actually have to play a real schedule for a change.

The Big 12 and its fans harbor a grudge against the SEC, taking every opportunity to criticize the league. If Baylor can beat Auburn, it will be as if their own team won the title.

Looks like the first half of the home and home was a covid casualty. A neutral site game probably isn’t a bad compromise. But St Louis would be more fair.

Cincinnati, Houston, UCF... all jokes.

The Big 12 commish overreacted when Texas/OU left - they should have stayed calm because they wound up with some decent PAC teams.

But now all the litter makes it look bad.

For the schools left in it, the Big12 is probably doing as well as it can. It survived all of its best schools leaving. It’s also in a better position to keep what is has than the current ACC.

How Oregon got away with their schedule in the Big 10 this year is crazy also.

Imagine if the PAC 12 Champ gets in under the 5 highest conference Champs deal. Last season one of them was within a few spots until late in the season.

I think there was the sense that staying small had made the conference less nationally relevant. I don’t think those teams hurt them that much.

Whats gonna happen when teams like Texas or Ohio State turn into a permanent Bama
Do you think its possible if they keep getting good coaches and top 5 recruit classes?

That would be the highest low point of the game.

The Big XII had a terrible record in the CFB Playoff with Texas and OU. The most positive thing I can say about that conference is they should be considered the best mid major out there.
