6 opening losses in a row would be the first time in program history.

Since 1893.

How in the heck is that possible. Did LSU open up with tough SEC teams some of those years?

People forget that Clemson lost their last 2 openers as well, one team's streak will be snapped this weekend

fricking Ed Orgeron and damned Bo Pelini trying to run early 2000’s Miami defense reliant upon defensive line pressures and man coverage schemes against Leach’s 5 wide, quick crossing defense. What could possibly go wrong?

Yeah. We probably should have started our last 3 years with Furmen, Mercer, and Troy.

2020 - Miss St
2021 - @ucla
2022 - Florida St (stung the most for me, blocked extra point with no time left. FSU 24 - 23
2023 - Florida St
2024 - USC

Pretty bad run, and this opener will by far be the best opponent versus the last 5.

Surprisingly, Alabama lost 7 in a row from 1953 to 1959.

1-1953 vs Mississippi Southern 19-25
2-1954 vs Mississippi Southern 2-7
3-1955 @ Rice 0-20
4-1956 @ Rice 13-20 (b2b openers @ Rice)
5-1957 @ LSU 0-28
6-1958 vs LSU 3-13
7-1959 @ Georgia 3-17
------
1960 vs Georgia 21-6

I don’t know about “by far”

2023 FSU finished undefeated in the regular season and was on their way to the 4 team playoff until they lost Jordan Travis … in the same shitty conference as Clemson is
