I finally cancelled YouTube TV a couple of months ago because I got tired of paying for full "cable" when all I ever really used it for was sports, and my sports appetite is overwhelmingly football. I would also tune in for an occasional golf tournament, March Madness, and this thing called college baseball that I remember from a bygone era. Other than that, I was paying for a bunch of crap that I never watch.

Just heard a podcast commercial for Sling TV day passes. They started offering this on Aug 12. Basically, for $4.99, you can get a 24-hour pass to their Orange package, which includes ESPN and most of their permutations (2, News, etc.). For $1 more, you can add the sports package, which includes SEC and ACC networks and some others.

I just started the Disney bundle yesterday that includes Disney, Hulu, and ESPN for 29.99, and may keep that for a while to watch some things, but will keep this day pass in mind for the future.

Looks like we can finally be rid of having to pay for 150 channels of crap if all you are looking for is situational sports.

House of Mouse is still a despicable tyrant, but at least we have some progress.

Aren’t our prime time games in ABC now? Do they have the schedule on who drew ABC this year?

I use YouTube for tv watching, which is mostly reruns which is fine with me, and I watch college games as well when someone is streaming them. And it’s hard to beat free.

About to cancel YouTubeTV and try this out. Kids and wife watch Disney Plus and Netflix I’m literally the only one that watches YouTube TV and it 99% of the time for live sports. Hard to justify paying that much for it even though it’s a great service.

I guess I’d need to get a digital antenna for games on Network TV?

$4.99 x 20 (Saturdays/days of football) = $100.

$5.99, if you add the sports package.

I’m glad for the option, but I wonder if we will ever have an option to not be so Balkanized in all this.

I doubt it.

I remember there was a game time change and it was LSU at Mizzou and Hulu never updated so my parents couldn't watch it. Since I was there I couldn't either so I was a little pissed I had to leave to watch it.
