Watching the 2024 Tennessee game...again. Chambliss was all over the place. Great instincts. Undrafted FA. Anyone know if he is going to make the squad in Minnesota? Dude is a DGD. Hope he gets a chance and pulling for him.

Then you haven't paid attention to this board the last few seasons. He's played well and got few accolades in here.

I mostly post here only during the football season and just don’t remember anyone ever shitting him. In the offseason I post mostly on the political gaming and more sports boards. And if you just joined a few months ago have you paid attention to this board?

My perspective is he has/had been insanely valuable as a reliable player at that position.

He didn't only lose contain and overpursue. He apparently never understood what contain meant.

His original handle was AlaCowboy but he lost his login during a computer upgrade so made a new one. He has been around a long time.

Dude, there is no way you paid attention here the last 4 years if you think Chambliss got more accolades than accusations of whiteness and the epicenter of institutional recruiting misses.

I’ve been here just as long as you, 13 years, so I think I’ve paid attention especially during the season. It’s possible I missed it or you’re referring to the offseason convos when I don’t check the board as much.

I just would find it ridiculous if they were saying that, I mean I was correct yes? He led the team in sacks?

Chaz got a lot of criticism on Georgia boards, not just this one. People were used to seeing incredible athletes like Ojulari, Adam Anderson, Nolan Smith, Jalon Walker, lined up on the edge, and honestly Chaz wasn't as physically gifted as those guys. I don't remember if I ever said anything to that effect, but I remember thinking it.

The problem is that Georgia boards have some recidivist buffoons who take opinions like that and make it personal against the players. They criticize over and over and over, almost like they're hoping others will join in and the player will see it. They'll say a player isn't good enough to be at Georgia and should transfer. I know it makes some players wonder if they would be appreciated more elsewhere when the end of season rolls around. If you pay attention, you'll notice that a lot of that incessant style of criticism comes from the same group of posters directing their vitriol at multiple Georgia players year after year. Some of those posters are just dumbasses, some of them are not Georgia fans and that's their agenda, create dissatisfaction.

Dude, I promise. Chambliss was blamed in game threads for not holding the edge (even though they had no idea if it was his responsibility on said play) He was called slow too, based on assumptions.
Kid was not perfect, but he got better each year and played good football at UGA. We were lucky to have him.

You right but if no one else is left on the perimeter, how can it not be his job short of a twist

Maybe someone else messed up? It’s easy to assume when you don’t know the play.

I remember one time he missed a tackle and I was like Fire That Motherfricker.

No one said those things.

He can’t set an edge was the knock on him

What was said was “this is the best Kirby can recruit?” I think that encompassed a lot of the stereotype.

It's hard to measure on this board specifically, but Chaz Chambliss definitely was criticized on this board.

It wasn't just this board. When Chambliss announced that he was coming back for this senior year, it didn't go well for him on social media. Some of our players even tweeted critical tweets criticizing our fans for being critical of Chambliss.

I don't think the criticism was totally unfair. He went like 15 games in a row without a sack. We all understand by this point that Georgia expects its OLBs to do way more than just get sacks, but the fact that an OLB who got that many snaps went that many games without a sacks isn't great.
