Is he expected to get cleared?

While you're here peep my SEC Only draft and be jealous of my team:

The insiders on the 247 board all expect him to be cleared. I'll believe it when I see it. He's the clear #1 back for SC though and it's critical to get him cleared. It's been a frustrating process.

Football is in less than 2 weeks. The NCAA needs to get their act together after they just let Michigan cheat to a championship

None of us know. He's been cleared to practice by the NCAA, which looks to be a pretty good sign that he's going to be eligible to play.
But the NCAA doesn't make cogent decisions very often. Nothing would surprise me. He's definitely the No.1 back if available, but I have more confidence in Adaway, Augustave, and Fuller than some people do.
We're hopeful, but honestly, that's Gamecock football in a nutshell. There's zero doubt in my mind that this would have already been decided had Faison been at an Alabama or a Texas, though.

The NCAA loves to frick us over with waivers. We wont know until after the season starts...per usual, despite doing everything correctly

Go full Tennessee on the NCAA and lawsuit them. The NCAA is a shell of itself and stopped protecting the integrity of the sport long time ago. Just play him and force them to get in line.

I kinda agree we need to stop playing nice. NCAA is a paper tiger.

Supposedly, Faison did, indeed, hire an attorney. Rumors were that only gummed up the process and made it worse.
Regardless, he's in limbo.

The school 100% should have. The player did, but unlike Pavia...it hasnt really yielded fruit for us. We seem to be the only situation that the NCAA isnt afraid of a lawsuit over.
and yeah I know, my responses are very "Woe is me" but our fans have seen these situations play out many times and forever reason we usually catch the short end of the stick

apparently the NCAA is blaming Marshall for transcripts not yet sent - which is convenient since Marshall's new AD from Austin Peay - who's a Darlington native and coached on Fulmer's staff at UTK with Beamer - didn't get hired until July 28 and didn't start new job at Marshall until August 15 - Marshall's AD job was vacant back in April and in flux from an Admin aspect - Faison's appeal began way back in Dec/Jan -
NCAA is again beligerantly slow-playing Gamecock athletics - as it has always done through the decades - the laughable part is the NCAA already had his transcripts from Marshall once before - when he arrived and was declared eligible at Utah State -
y'all recall 2010 when Spurrier and Carolina were in the locker room at W-B waiting to enter to 2001 while the NCAA was also one-by-one finally ruling on eligibilty for over 15 players before the Southern Miss season opener ???
fully expect the same treatment with Faison -

Damn. The NCAA has a hard-on for yall. Cant be like Missouri and passively do everything they want or else they will just make an example out of you anyway.

If Rahsul doesnt clear who will be the next man up at RB?

These days it seems like a lawsuit is about the only thing that gets their attention in any kind of prompt manner.

Adaway was last year's No.2 and started the bowl game when Rocket opted out. They also landed a transfer from Colorado in Augustave who has been turning heads, and is excellent at pass pro.
Then there are Jawarn Howell (SC State transfer) and Matthew Fuller (hs recruit). Lots of folks have said Fuller has the brightest future, but I haven't heard a lot about his camp, as Faison has dominated press coverage.

Impressive ... Who got drafted in the 1st round?
Posted on 8/18/25 at 2:19 pm to Cobbvol
I got the first pick out of 6 teams and drafted Ryan Williams. This league is easily deep enough for 8 teams

Nice. Do like this league drop the TE and add an extra flex. TE position has died.
