Lamar Brown to Tigers

247 profile

The top prospect in Louisiana is ranked 7th overall. Huge commit for Brian Kelly and company. Hopefully it sticks.

Three 5-stars on the DL alone, 4 total.

Good get. Heard Aggies had made him a strong arse offer but he chose to stay home.

To be honest, LSU probably made a bigger offer to keep him at home.

He wanted to stay, where is that A&M offered to match or do better than anything LSU threw at him and he chose to stay home

So credit to the lsu coaches for reeling him in, because I think A&M went all out to try to pull him out of state

Yep….think they had to pay out more NIL to him than they expected. Good get for LSU. I think the kid will stay committed to LSU.

After losing Stewart last cycle, we couldn't afford to lose another top DL literally out of our backyard.

Legit question, who are the other two?

Kind of glad he choose LSU, if he would have picked A&M at this point we would have just been waiting all the way until to signing day for him to flip and stay home. Hard to pull guys out of that area, good get for the Tigers. I have no doubt we will keep in contact until the ink is dry.

Helluva DL haul this cycle for the Tigers - as a Bama fan, I’m jealous. Crazy how much DT talent could be in Baton Rouge next year had Jahkeem Stewart stayed in The Boot..

Big Rich Anderson is going to be an absolute force in the middle for y’all, and once he spends some time in a P5 S&C program, I can easily see him becoming an NFL first round talent. No doubt that Kyle Williams will coach him (and the rest) up and get that technique on point.

What is the likelihood that Lamar Brown ends up on the OL? Is the consensus that Brown will solely play DT?

It's nice to be recruiting the trenches like Saban did for years.

I think he stated today that he would be playing defense.

Nice - there’s definitely no shortage of quality players up front for the Tigers going forward. It has been perplexing to see LSU so weak on the defensive interior thus far under BK (though it makes sense once you consider all the coaching instability within the DL room the first few years of his tenure).

Lamar Brown plays on both sides of the ball in high school, but he said he envisions himself as an offensive lineman on the next level. He says that because he likes to "destroy people and get to the next level and destroy somebody else." Along with all-state honors in 2023, Brown was a MaxPreps sophomore and freshman All-American. As a freshman, Brown placed second in the Louisiana 3A shot put finals with a 50-feet, 4-inch throw in 2023.

Sounds like he wants to play on the OL.

They asked him during announcement about playing both sides of the ball and if if he preferred pancaking or getting sacks. He said sacks, and he said he will be playing Defense.
