Half the resources and twice the team USC or Clemson can put together

Coastal really takes the belt to these 2 pretenders.
It's odd but I love to see it.

South Carolina has a dozen CWS appearances, 2 national titles and another 4 national title appearances, from the 1970's until the 2010's. How are we pretenders?

You hired Paul Mainieri. You're pretenders.

Our national championship coach pretended to be an AD for over a decade.

That's about it.

In truth I Iike Paul. He was/is a huge dick to his players but he got results for a long time, similar to Les Miles. I'm glad he got paid by SC. Glad someone else did it.

Coastal clearly has the best pitching coach right now - coming over from South Carolina -

14-6 Gamecocks all-time - only played 5 times since USC swept the Myrtle Super from Coastal in 2010 - Carolina's won 4 - and one of those wins was 2016 when Coastal won Omaha going through Baton Rouge -

That Christian Walker home run in 2010 in the Supers against Coastal still hasn't landed.

It’s gotta be extremely frustrating for any So Carolina fan to see a Sun Belt team in your own state playing on this stage.

You both have first year head coaches. They have a former player, former asst coach, and a guy all in on Coastal Carolina and you have an old retread in Paul. I know I’d be pretty damn pissed if LSU had just hired an old retread and Louisiana Lafayette was playing in the CWS Finals right now with a first year head coach.

Gamecock fans watched this same Big South baseball program sweep through Baton Rouge on the way to beating Arizona in Omaha in 2016 - and laughed out asses off -

It's not about what Coastal has done on the Palmetto baseball scene - it's about what the Jackleggs in the upstate have still never done - with Coastal being the exclamation point to USC's success in. Omaha -

Carolina fans would welcome The College - The Citadel - Francis Marion - FloDar - Spartanburg Methodist and Salkehatchie to Omaha and win it as long as Jacklegg U continues its history of failures there -

So Tammy - now you get it

That was a solid team that played last night and couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities it had. Wondering LSU can make that happen twice.

This is so sad. You’re fine to be dogshit at sports as long as Clemson isn’t the best in the country. Clemson has had back to back 40 win seasons. Something USC hasn’t done in over a decade and 2 coaches ago. South Carolina has finished at or below .500 on the year in 3 of the last 7 seasons. It’s fine to be happy with Clemson not winning a title but have a little pride in your own program. No wonder tanner let the school go to shite. No one held him accountable so all he had to do was sit and collect a check.

I think it's pretty sad that one of the two best teams in college baseball is Coastal Carolina. That should tell you what the rest of Division I thinks about the sport outside of the southeastern United States.

We'll see. You had two first round picks on the mound last night, so the result was to be expected. LSU missed its share of scoring opportunities as well.
