Sorry another BR question. Should I try to park near the Box on Sat or take an Uber from the hotel? I plan on walking around campus some before and/or after (likely ending up at Chimes). So just starting to think about best logistics. Thx in advance.

Good deal. Parking at the Disch in Austin sucks

If you're doing a campus tour and ending up at chimes after the game, I'd try to park somewhere near that area. Maybe by the buffalo wild wings. There will be spots open there where you can leave your car all day.

If strictly going to the game and leaving, this is the easiest spot to park near the box. Its free, just dont show up 5 minutes before first pitch cause it'll be full

Its about a 30 min walk from the box to the chimes, so might be better to park near the stadium

Awesome appreciate that! I’m sure I’ll be less enthused about a 30 minute walk back to the truck after a solid meal and some beer at Chimes!

Id park near the stadium for the game then move my car closer to the chimes after. Look for spots near the BWW or CVS. The chimes is right across the street

Note, do not take the Buffalo Wild Wings suggestion literally. You will get towed in 5-minutes if you leave your car in that lot.

Make sure whatever lot you’re in is an LSU lot and you will be golden. It’s all open on the weekend. There’s a little lot on the campus side of chimes street across from bengals and bandits that is good. The chimes lot is also fine and they built it back further so there is a lot of spots, but crowd will also be an issue. I’d move my car to an LSU lot after leaving chimes though.

Outside of that, there will be zero shortage of parking on the south side of campus for the game.

Absolutely but UT is basically surrounded by downtown and the Disch is right on I35. LSU is its own campus away from areas like that. Pros & cons to both.

Tiger Rant or OT-Lounge would also be great boards to post questions, much more visibility. You’ll get a share of GFY’s but the majority will be honest answers and you might be offered a hook up (pardon the pun) for something cool.

Just curious. What do you plan on wearing? Are you gonna go with the burnt orange horns or rep the home team? If you wear Texas gear I’m sure you’ll hear a few things.

If you’re going to walk around campus and The Chimes after, I’d suggest parking in Lot 404 which is at the corner of Skip Bertman and Nicholson Drive across from Tiger Stadium and not that far of a walk to The Box. As someone said earlier, do not park in the lot where BWW is located and go to the Chimes. Your car will be quickly towed.

Well if Horns were playing I’d wear it and endure what came, but prolly wear an old WVU tshirt in solidarity w my cousin. We were both born in WV; my family moved to Houston when I was in kindergarten and he moved to Nola after playing football at Merchant Marine Academy. Went to Tulane Law, loved it, and stayed. Like many in Nola almost moved to Texas after Katrina but stayed put. He’s in uptown and supposedly on highest point in Nola so didn’t flood. Anyway been to Nola a dozen times but this will be first for spending time in BR so really looking forward to it. Really aporeciate all the tips and suggestions on parking, good, hotels.

Probably fine to wear Texas stuff. Chance someone will recognize and invite you to tailgate. Probably less than ideal to wear anything for West Virginia.

On Saturdays that are not LSU football game days there is tons of parking all around campus that you can park at for free.

Make sure it’s not a reserved spot and you’re good. Enjoy

Parking is easy

The old front 9 and the Hayfield lot are both free. The old front 9
Is better. It’s close to the football stadium, Mikes habitat, Walk Ons and it’s shaded. We saw lots of tailgates set up last weekend.

It’s a huge campus that is very spread out
