My oldest will be a freshman this Fall. Assuming we're able to get a student ticket package for football games, are we able to attend together? How do I go about making that happen? I've searched the website, but there seems to be very little info about this.

Used to be able to convert a student ticket to student guest for $50, took my Dad and several friends to the 2007 LSU game

How does that work? Do we purchase multiple student ticket packages or try to purchase from another student?

OK so they just went on sale and we got one package for the ULM, Tennessee, and Oklahoma games. The other package was for the other home games. For future reference for anyone else doing this, it appears students (or at least incoming freshmen) can only buy one package total, and can't buy one of each package, so I'll need to figure out how to get tickets for myself for those three games and see how we can go about attending together. I think we definitely got the better ticket package out of the two options.

If the process hasn’t changed since my time there, he can only have 1 ticket on his account at a time. So he’d either have to convert his ticket to a student guest ticket for you and then have another student transfer their ticket to him or someone else would have to convert their ticket to student guest and you buy from them. The student guest ticket process was done at Coleman Coliseum’s ticket office.

I believe that’s an accurate description of the current process.

Perfect. I'm sure we'll get it figured out some kind of way.

What kind of jackasses downvote someone just asking an honest question?

Anyway...downvote away.

My daughter got the other package with 4 games instead of 3...Wisconsin, Vandy and LSU plus the second throw away game. Wisconsin being a 11am kickoff is a downer, but generally LSU is the "game of the year" most seasons of late.

They're either jealous about the student tickets, or fans of other teams downvoting everything.

Yeah I get it, I just think Tennessee and Oklahoma are going to be good ones (and they beat us last year). LSU was the only game that interested me in that other package.

That's a good 3 game package. Oklahoma might be ranked...Tennessee losing their QB kinda lessens that one...but it's still Tennessee. Plus, that throw away game is at least a night game. It was close for her, but all her friends wanted to go to LSU so that tipped it.

Makes sense. Mine is more of the mindset of "never talk to anyone." Definitely needs to get out of the house and forced to socialize.

Tons of kids from our area are going to UA because we're in Hoover and it's so close, but I promise my student couldn't name a single one of them.

Oh man. Why did she pick UA then and not UAB? I love UA but it can eat you apart if you don't at least try to be social. Anyways, good luck to her and you

UAB's Chemical Engineering program felt geared completely to premed, and the facilities were subpar during our tour (they're supposed to be opening new buildings this fall but I don't know if that is still on track). We started out with that being first on the list and it ended up last on the list. In the end, the next closest school won the sweepstakes.

To be honest, UA isn't much longer of a drive for us than UAB. We're within the range that staying on campus was not a requirement. Ironically, UAB says we live too far away to stay off campus if attending there even though we're closer.

Man, have times changed. Back in ancient history, when I was in school, you got an entire season for your ticket package. I may be remembering this wrong, but I think you could get two season ticket packages as a student. I do remember tickets cost $33 for the season. 1994-98 was a long time ago.

The package we got was $110. The other one with 4 games was $140. I think they do have full season packages of some sort for returning students but can't be sure since we did no have access to those.

Oof, it was already up to $100 when I got an upgrade for the 2012 Iron Bowl. Gotta be ridiculous by now.
