for having a multitude of underperforming women’s athletic programs, Josh Brooks is him.
I know, nobody cares, but…
Just sayin.

Women should stick to beauty contests and sandwich making competitions.

Golf sucks but the whole facility needs an overhaul and Haack needs to retire already to reset both men and women’s programs.
Softball sucks and Baldwin needs to go.
Womens basketball isn’t gonna do much of anything with Staley a few hours up the road. Abe hasn’t been good but idk what can be reasonably achieved beyond making the tourney. Joni Taylor left for more money in CS and went 10-19 this past year.
Womens swimming is going to take some time to reset after Bauerle ended maybe the best tenure ever in the sport
Meanwhile,
Womens tennis just won the indoor natty and is a favorite to win the outdoor.
Soccer is better than it’s ever been
Volleyball is as competitive as it’s ever been (just had a ton of injuries this last year that derailed the season)
Women’s track just finished runner up at NCAA indoors
Equestrian is equestrian
Gymnastics just hired maybe the most revered coach(es) in America to revive the program.

So a majority of the programs didn’t underachieve this year or haven’t improved since he took over?
Soccer, tennis, and track are it.
By Brooks own standard of competing for conference or national championships, all other programs fall woefully short.

The rest of the programs could go winless, and his job wouldn't be in jeopardy so long as the football team is at the top, as it is now.

Nah, it's a thing in the AA that he only cares about football. We were spoiled having Coach Dooley as AD.

Not at Dooley set football and almost all our facilities back a generation. Should have never been hired as AD.

Dooley most certainly set us back in football and facilities as AD. It can be argued that if he paid Tubby and moved the needle on the facilities with all the Olympic money he had, we could have started a basketball dynasty 30 years ago. I feel like Tubby would have done better in Athens with his “own”program than going to KY. We didn’t ‘have’ the money or commitment, so I don’t blame him.
Dooley ran a fiefdom as AD. Remember, we was waiting to get his 200th win so he could go and get into politics. He was never supposed to be AD for that long. It was just supposed to jump start his next chapter. Some know why he abandoned his career in politics, but he did and then he was a legend that no one could touch as AD and he had no better options. Dooley wanted loyalty and asskissers in his house, which is why Damon Evans fell upwards every step of the way. Where you placed your lips was more important than performance. We had a generational chance to upgrade facilities with the Olympics and he chose lipstick.
..and don’t get me started on Ray Goff.

I don't disagree with that, but he did a decent job hiring minor sports coaches. Hell, Ray Goff might have turned out different if it weren't for his moral lacking.

No surprise that McGarity sat the car in idle for as long as he did given who he learned from (Dooley and Foley).
Brooks is the most forward thinking and business-progressive AD we’ve had since Joel Eaves was expanding capacity in Sanford Stadium and Jere is probably the most on-board President we’ve ever had.
Leadership is as in lockstep as it’s ever been in advancing athletics forward which is why I’m not worried about the women’s sports; if they suck, it’ll be handled and facility improvements will be provided

Ray was in no way cut out to be a coach. He was Damon Evans 1.0, but even less capable. He had that arse kissing thing though.

Imagine if we had hired a Lou Holtz when Notre Dame and him fell out with each other.
Posted on 4/17/25 at 10:42 am to lewis and herschel
Or if we hired Spurrier away from Duke before UF lol

UGA women equestrian with the natty!

Probably not, but worth pointing out that the Jan Kemp shite basically cut our own nose off in relation to our peers. While we were being holier than thou righteous, Spurrier and fulmer were cleaning up with the recruits that we were no longer allowed to accept.

While true, it did not need to go on as long as it did. Give the Kemp thing a year or two and make a change at President, AD who was coach during the Kemp fiasco, and the coach. Find the right coach then hire an outside AD with high qualifications in all major sports
UGA should have never been allowed to dip that far with instate talent alone.

Dooley and Adams agreed that Dooley would retire at the end of his contract, and then Dooley tried to end around the whole thing by going public that he wanted to stay. Adams caught all kind of flak for holding Dooley to their agreement. This was all after Adams had to override Dooley to fire Goff.
Dooley chose to have the entire athletic facility on South Lumpkin named after him stating that he wanted to be remembered as the AD rather than as a coach.
Then, we got the public campaign to put his name on Sanford Stadium.
Running off Saint Vince was a grenade nobody was willing to fall on back then.
