My sweet special needs cat is being put down tomorrow. She is just north of 2 years old. She has a severe underbite and one eye. She is so cool. Her name is Hope. Her mother was a farm cat that rejected her. I bottle fed her and gave her a life. I am so sad. She got to where she would eat then puke. Took her to the vet to find multiple masses inside her. That was Tuesday. She declined quickly and we are keeping her comfortable will help her get peace tomorrow. I called her the bathroom warden. If you go to the bathroom she wants to be in your lap talking and getting pets. I’m going to miss her so much.

Thank you. She’s my little baby and I don’t think I will want to be in this house without her.

Sorry you’ve got such a heavy heart tonight, Lex.
Pets are family too, and it’s always tough losing family.
Condolences…

So you were in the bathroom petting your pussy and it talked back to you?
On a serious note, I had a lovely tortoise kitty from weaning to about 2 when feluke (feline leukemia) took her from me far too soon. That was at least half a century ago and still feel it. Pets come and go in our lives but they live on in our thoughts.
If she is an Irish kitty, may she be in kitty heaven before the devil poodles of hell know she is gone.

Currently hanging out in her favorite place for what’s probably going to be one of the last times. She is lethargic and not herself. But still happy.
She was so little and fragile when I found her. I called her hope because I was like… I hope she makes it. And she did for a while. I always knew it was borrowed time. Just didn’t know I’d lose her this fast.

Sorry you have to lose a loved one. We had a cat that had spina bifida. Keep her alive and heathly for 5 years till we had to put her down because of cancer. We called her pooters because she couldn't by herself.

Sorry for what you are dealing with. Pets are awesome.

I'm sorry, Lex. I've never cried over the death of a human family member. I cried like a baby when I had to put my dog down several months ago. Animals are just different.

She is now in the pet cemetery. She passed about 30 minutes ago peacefully. I haven’t stopped crying.
I know there’s a huge difference in losing a dog and a cat. Most of the bumps and torn up baseboards are from the labs. But she was special because she needed me. And I poured so much love and energy into making sure she lived and had a good life. She was happy. And loved me. I know she was thankful for that. She was that one in a million cat.

If it is any consolation, you gave her a good life to live.

To the downvoters of this post, you missed the point (and you have probably NEVER been to an old school Irish wake). In our PC world of anti social media there are older ways to mourn the dying and the dead. Please watch this clip and later today I will post what this scene was all about that young people never seem to get these days.
In the meantime if you already know please do not blurt it out so others can think about what they just saw.

Thank you. Going to go to Kirklands or something to see if I can find a nice Rock that says Hope on it.

Not if you love your animal.

This is what made her special to you.

You did the humane thing. Try to take consolation in that. I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

Thank you. Not just you. Thank all of you for your kind words.
I just got home from avoiding being home since it happened. It’s so quiet. I don’t like it.
