Only two programs with top 16 teams in the three major male sports and women's basketball. Incredible success from both athletic departments.

Congrats to our SECRant Vols. Great time to be a fan in both programs. Success all year round.

Hopefully they have room for all the trophies that must have come with it.

Ole Miss's AD played basketball in college with the brother of UTK's AD.
And that brother is at UGA bringing our historically worst Big 3 sport up to standard.

Ole Miss is the best ran school in the SEC right now.
Best Chancellor/President and Best Athletic Director. Its starting to pay dividends.

Ole Miss has a great athletic program right now, but it’s not even remotely in the same tier as LSU or Florida in a down year.
Best of luck to the Rebs in the sweet 16, will be cheering them on.

OM wasn't ranked going into the tourney....sweet 16 doesn't mean they will finish in top 16

Top 16 team currently in men's and women's basketball...deal with it

Consider the five sports that matter.
Football
Ole Miss finished 10-3, 11th in the AP poll, and was one win away from the CFP.
LSU and Florida received votes in the final AP poll.
Men's Basketball
Florida and Ole Miss are in the Sweet 16. Sure, Florida has a better chance to win it, but right now, they are both in the Sweet 16.
LSU did not make the NCAA Tournament
Women's Basketball
Ole Miss is in the Sweet 16, with LSU likely to join them.
Florida did not make the NCAA Tournament
Baseball
LSU is No. 8 and Ole Miss is No. 15 in today's rankings. Both are 4-2 in the SEC.
Florida is not ranked and is 0-6 in the SEC.
Softball
All three teams are ranked. LSU is 5-1 in the SEC and Florida and Ole Miss are both 3-3.
Ole Miss is definitely in the same tier as LSU and Florida. As the OP says, only Tennessee is having a similar year. What is happening at Ole Miss right now is amazing.

One common trend was LSU and Florida were both missing in sports while Ole Miss was not

Their best shot at a championship will come from a women's sport.

Gotta credit Ole Miss athletics, the University of Mississippi and Oxford itself for what they have done in the last few decades.
They have overcome a lot to become a major player in terms of athletics.
There was a time when Oxford was considered too small and boring, and the University too provincial, snobbish and racist to attract quality athletes.
Now Oxford is considered a cool, happenin' place, the University consists of more than just rich white southern planter/doctor/lawyer kids... and racism doesn't seem like any kind of issue as far as attracting talent.
