Rank School Rationale
1 Alabama Dominant across all metrics and a founding member.
2 Auburn Consistently high performance in championships and polls.
3 Tennessee Long history of sustained excellence.
4 LSU High national championship and bowl performance.
5 Florida Multiple SEC titles and strong postseason showings.
6 Georgia Consistent top-tier season-end rankings and accolades.
7 Texas Raw performance is very high; its strong metrics help overcome the lower multiplier.
8 Oklahoma Similar to Texas, exceptional raw numbers boost its adjusted score.
9 Arkansas Solid head-to-head and championship credentials as a mid-joiner.
10 Ole Miss Consistent performer among the founding group.
11 Mississippi State Good overall records and accolades, though a notch below the leaders.
12 South Carolina Mid-joiner with moderate SEC success.
13 Texas A&M Competitive but with a shorter SEC history than founding members.
14 Missouri Similar to A&M, with a raw performance that places it in the lower mid-range.
15 Kentucky A founding member whose raw performance has been comparatively weaker.
16 Vanderbilt Historically modest performance despite a long tenure in the SEC.
Just for fun, I entered a number of metrics (like NC's, conference championships, head to head games etc.) into an AI program. It found the data and compiled the rankings. The weight given to the founding members (sans Tulane the Wreck and Sewanee) and number of years in the SEC, was crucial. At first, given weights of 10 for the 10, 5 for Arkansas and SC, 3 for Mizzou and A&M and 1 for OU and the Horns put the Sooners and Texas at rock bottom which is maybe where they should be but to place them below some of the others didn't sit right even though they are such newcomers. We then changed it to give conference duration a little less weight and the following is the initial run. If y'all could give me some additional metrics to use (I've already put in head to head games, all-conference players, Walter Camp and other POY awards etc.), we can tweak it quite a bit. Eventually we can do this for all sports.
I didn't choose the rationale comments, the AI did.

Great list, I'd have Kentucky over Mizzou tho.
Kentucky may be a historical doormat in football, but they are a blueblood in basketball and have been solid in baseball.
What has Mizzou ever done to be above anyone except Vandy?

Time in the conference is weighted very heavily as I said. The horns are lucky I didn’t go with as much weight as I’d originally planned as it had you and OU 15th and 16th. Yes, there’s some subjectivity as far as weight goes but the numbers are accurate like:
Post season rankings across all the major polls
Number of regular season conference championships
Number of conference championship games won
Number of times to win a division
Number of NCs
Number of bowl games played in
Number of bowl games won with more weight given to the Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl and Fiesta Bowl
If you don’t believe it, give me more parameters to add to the machine

Auburn at #2 is where this loses me. Feels like they’re clearly #6 in the big 6. Beyond “it’s what the AI said” why would Auburn be above LSU, Tennessee, Florida, or Georgia in your opinion? LSU and Florida are relative newcomers but statistically above Auburn in most categories that matter

Is this Ai using data through 2011?

Pathetically bad list. The only one you got close to right is Alabama. Oklahoma is a clear #2.
Big gap from 2 to 3.
Big gap from 2 to 3.

Y’all gotta stop doing this and, especially, stop posting it like it says anything of merit.

First off, you should have left out that this was about football...it would have made it not look so dumb.

Evidently, it hasn't been updated since 2020 season.
Must've been ChatGPT: "I'm up to date with information until September 2021, which means that I don't have access to events or developments that occurred after that time."
