Not a shocker. Let the man coach how he wants to coach. When you start making him do things he doesn't want to do, then who is to blame for the failure that is going to occur?

He got the job by calling plays and building a program at Louisiana. Let him do what he was hired to do. And if he loses 5 or 6 games next season, fire him.
He should be asking Spurrier to help him improve his passing game. His run concepts are very good. Passing not so much.

I hate to say it but anyone who actually believed he was hiring an OC this time around has short term memory. He tickles our taints every off-season hinting that certain staff changes could be made including play calling but it never happens.
He needs one but in his opinion he's there to call plays and that's what he's gonna do until stricklin and him get shitcanned.

Billy knows he's on the hot seat....he's been there....not a secret.
If your job of a lifetime paying you 8 million a year was on the line would you trust yourself or someone else. I think thats what it boils down to at this point.
If he can win some games and get some confidence from the admin and fans I bet he'd look at hiring someone....but right now he prob feels like the still fighting for his life.
