We are going to need someone to do that to beat Tennessee this year.

This isn't an insult in any way, although some insecure cat fans may take it as so, but with UK's long illustrious basketball history I kinda would have thought their all time highest scorer would have been more than 54 points.

54 is an assload of points in college basketball.
An sec basketball player has scored 55 or more 20 times in conference history, 13 of those times were Pistol Pete.

How in the hell did Kentucky go .500 in conference that season?

I can't really think of a worse "fit" for an institution that BCG at UK. The guy pulled A&M's program out of the gutter. And not just any gutter; we're talking Paris red light district gutter.
He pissed-off the blue bloods before the ink dried on his contract. It wasn't like the guy suddenly forgot the game. It was an absolute case-study in a coach needing to fit the culture of an institution in order to be successful.

Absolute clinic that day. Would've nice if he would've stayed another year for Cal's first team. O well, it is the way it is.

It’s a shame Meeks performance is forever tainted by BCG.

I was at the game and also saw a few of his NBA games. Worked with his uncle at the Post Office for several years. Jodi was a great dude, very respectful and humble.

Yep he went crazy that night. Nike made commemorative T-shirts "Blessed to be a witness Meeks 54" for the team and Billy G wouldn't let the team have them because "This isn't the university of Jodi Meeks"
