From a financial standpoint doesn't it make more sense for him to enter the portal and make a couple million playing another year of college football ( like Beck)?

There's ZERO chance of him ever being an NFL starting QB

It's possible that he won't even make a roster

He's a slightly above average thrower with no ability to extend plays while in or outside the pocket

This leads me to another obvious question

If Ewers is what I believe him to be, is Sark completely incompetent or is Arch a bust?

I think sark made a deal and wanted to stick to it. But also, as mediocre as ewers was at times, he wasn’t as bad as the absolute dog shite play calling.

We don’t know what Arch is. Anyone who says they do is speculating.
Ewers has a way weaker arm than I thought, no chance he ever starts a game in the NFL.
Who is desperate enough to give him a bag full of money from the portal at this point? Miami just got their guy. Think he may have to take a paycut if he wants another year.

No, the QB class is weak and he’ll be a late first or early second round pick.

Not true at all. Remember this kid skipped his senior year to go play college ball. He’s young for where he is in his career. A few years in a NFL system and time to put on weight, he can be a solid pro.

Wrong

He’s been extending plays well during the back half of the season.

I don’t think Ewers has that “it” factor to win the big games.

He’s not physically gifted either.

He really ought to hit the portal and make a couple million to play one more year in college.

Wrong. I guarantee there are some coaches saying “if only he had a decent OL”.

Our OL was insanely overrated all year. Lots of talent but I believe the coaches schemed them out of being great by overthinking the offense (Exhibit A: 1st and goal from the 1 last night).

Ewers is better than several QBs currently in the NFL.

He’s a pocket passer and will translate into the NFL.

Ewers is a better QB than Daniel Jones…

Don’t underestimate the desperation of NFL GMs

Do you seriously not see his arm strength and say “yeah that’s not going to cut it at the next level.” It’s very easy to see.

Jones can zip an out route from the opposite hash. Everything Ewers throws floats like a butterfly. That shite is not going to last in the NFL. Won’t even make it through training camp.

Yeah you just proved you haven’t watched Ewers this year.

It might. I think he goes 2nd to 3rd round this year. QB class is bad. I could see a team like tOSU outpaying NFL 2nd round money for one year to get another experienced QB.

He has options I'm sure. If a college team offers him millions he could transfer.

He does seem a bit small and doesn't have a big arm but he does have pretty good pocket awareness and is accurate with the short to medium passes. He's been under tremendous pressure in some of these games as the Oline has simply failed to protect or provide a running game.

The Arch thing is mostly about the agreements made long ago between Sark, Ewers and Arch. Ewers will go somewhere this year. It's going to be Arch's team next year as was planned the moment he inked with Texas.

What I witnessed last night is a funky throwing motion.

It’s definitely funky and it’s not an NFL arm. Rivers was funky too but the SOB had a piss missle.

If we had Dart, we'd likely be undefeated

Without the threat of a mobile QB, teams could slowdown our rushing attack by playing 11 on 10 in the run game without having to account for Ewers or drop another player into pass coverage

Several teams have brought in portal QB's who weren't even starters at their previous schools

Ewers could go somewhere (perhaps North Carolina) for a couple million and potentially develop

You understand there isn’t one single throw in this entire clip that NFL GM’s are going to drool over right? Our secondary is not an NFL secondary. Clip one throw that says “wow”. I’ll wait.

Look how open the wr on the 2nd play is. In the NFL that is a much tighter window and if thrown easily picked. Ewers isn't an NFL QB, although, Some grow up once in the NFL. I just don't see that with Ewers.
