Penn State and Texas both lost 2 games and didn't win their conference, they got Boise State and Arizona State this round.

You're not wrong but it wasn't their greed that caused them to give byes to undeserving programs. That was exclusively because they are in fact morons.

I don't think it will always work out like that, it's just the way the seeds fell this year. Also, Ohio State wasn't looking so hot coming into the playoffs

Oregon is a fraud and played no one all year to go undefeated. If they were legit they would man up and beat OSU twice like UGA did Texas.

No, it's already locked in for 2025. The only thing that could change is the subjective "ratings" that have the teams "pre-seeded" prior to conference championship weekend.

The seeding is definitely a problem if the goal is to have the best 4 teams in the semifinals. But the whole point of a playoff is to find out who the best team is and crown a champ. If OSU beats Oregon, does it really matter whether it was in the quarterfinals or semifinals? Either way, we find out that Oregon is not the best team. They can complain that they might have gone further with a better bracket but they can't complain that they were robbed of a title. This isn't basketball where you hang Final 4 banners as if it was nearly the same as a national title.
