After watching more OOC games with all these bowl games...its clear Bama is lacking at RB talent. I just didnt see the running backs display much exceptional vision, patience or explosiveness. Haynes in particular seemed like a major disappointment. I really hope Miller, Young, or a new player can step it up next season. Seems like a long time since Bama has had exceptional RB play

We know Jam is a baller. Would have also helped if their QB actually knew when to hand it off or keep it based on the defense instead of flipping a coin.

So many times Milroe kept when the RB's would have had a massive hole to run through.

This is fair point.

To some extent I agree, Jalen had good vision when it comes to running the ball too so I wouldn't strictly attribute it to that. I believe to some extent guys were getting adjusted to a new offensive scheme. Hell Haynes had at least 2 offensive coordinators the whole time he was here, Jam had 3.

I believe the talent at running back is there I honestly think adjustment to new schemes and working behind an up and down on-line warped the perception of how talented the RB's truly are.

Riley is a very good walk-on. Just never gets the ball.

Young got injured against Wisconsin. Suffered a high ankle sprain. He’s a beast of a back. He’s going to be a big part of the offense in 2025. Also, AK Dear is a stud running back prospect.

Is it fair to suggest that our RBC is not developing these guys? The best backs under Robert Gillespie have been a RS Senior he inherited in 2021 and a transfer Junior in 2022.

Not a single guy he’s spent the majority of their development with has amounted to much.

Yes. Ill agree with a previous poster about OL play. The running game has been on the backburner for years now and with the exception of Milroe going off, I cant recall a recent game where the running game just took over.

Riley is a scholarshipped back isn't he? I don't recall him being a walk-on.

At some point we have to question the RBs coach.

We had Jahmyr Gibbs and he didn't even crack 1000 yards.

He's one of the best RBs in the NFL.

There's clearly an issue here and it's not just lack of talent.

The offensive line has to continue getting better.

Jaylen Mbakwe could be used as a 3rd back to add explosion to the back field.

That's what I was saying. His two best products to the NFL were essentially not developed by him at all: Brian Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs. Every single back he's been responsible for developing out of high school has not lived up to expectations. All of them.
