Saban offered him a scholarship.
From Gardendale, AL.

That's all I got.

I know nothing but stoked he’s coming here? How’d he perform at Florida?

Played 12 games in 2023, recording 23 tackles (including assists), 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Only played in 6 games this year, posting six tackles (5 assists, one solo). All those tackles came in 1 game, against Mississippi State. Nothing on the stat sheet from the other 5.

He left high school as a big edge defender- he was probably 250-255 when he got to campus. He was really always going to grow into a "bandit" type player. He's really a 4-3 defensive end. UF tried to beef him up into a light defensive tackle.

Its basically the reverse of what happened with Overton. Overton and Collins are similar body types. TAMU tried to move Overton to LB and UF tried to move Collins to DT when they're both big ends

You can never have enough bodies on the DL, but I hope this doesn't A) push Renaud out down the line, I like his potential, and B) indicate the staff isn't confident in Keon Keeley ever developing into an every down SEC lineman.

I felt that Keeley was also someone we were trying to make work at OLB under the Saban regime when he was probably more like a strong-side end in an even front defense.

Considering that this defense is built on having high motor to read, react, and chase down the ball carrier...I think having 4 deep at strong-side end is where you'd LOVE to be from a roster perspective. The problem we have is that there are only two weak-side ends right now.

I saw that. They're coaches, they've got a mutant of an athlete and they want to keep pouring into him. I hope it clicks. That is going to be a logjammed position if Overton returns though

Would love to see us run a NASCAR package. I know we tried it with Will Anderson, but it’s a maddening pass rush if you can implement it right
