Because these teams make us feel good but lo ... they're not as good as we thought ..
Admit it. The "playoffs" idea is severely flawed.

You’ll never know if a team is overrated until they play the game. We have all seen ridiculous upsets through the years. HBCU Howard beating UNLV as +45.5 underdogs. Stanford over USC as a +42 dog. Buster Douglas over Mike Tyson as a 42 to 1 dog. App State beat Michigan as +33 point dogs.
Hell, even Oklahoma beat, hmmm, who did they beat? I forgot but they were huge dogs this season and mopped the floor with a powerhouse team that only scored 3 points total. A team their fans begged to be in the playoffs.
