Let's just ignore all the past Gruden/Ark bullshite and look at him as a potential college HC independently.

He said 2 yrs ago in LR he wanted to coach college again and even mentioned Simmons Bank for NIL.

Gruden is actually not a great coach, but he has the Prime/Belichick celebrity and nfl factor. Would he actually be able to unlock the vast untapped Ark booster/corporate $, or would he fail miserably because it ultimately comes down to coaching and nothing else?

I would like to do anything that gets us talked about on social media/espn. Kids today care about clout more than just about anything else. Anything that gives us that will help.

UNC and Colorado have been in the media cycle nonstop fmsince their hires. Gruden would do the same for Ark.

Gruden would not be in a positive light.

He's in Europe because he's too toxic after the email scandal for anyone in the US to employ him.

maybe to the media but it’s a name our boosters would donate too. Not that I think anyone near the university would a tuallly consider hiring him but it WOULD work. In the sense that we would have way more NIL money to throw around

He's a big name to the boomer crowd, sure.

Recruits today weren't alive during his prime years coaching.

Gruden's last go around with Mike Mayock as GM didn't leave great impressions that he would do great in the current NIL marketplace.

He probably couldn't be worse than whatever Pittman does without a GM in valuing players and positional value but I'm still believe Arkansas needs a young coach and staff who understands the players they recruit and have a GM in place who can be the person that deals with the agents of the recruits and players on the team. GM is a relationship position in college with agents.

Us not having one is killing Pittman because Pittman the HC is very different than Pittman the positional coach when it comes to relationships with players IMO.

34) Glenn Schumann, (Kirby’s right hand from Alabama until he became a DC for Kirby)

36) GJ Kinne had Texas State looking decent.

We need to do something. UNC is about to crush it with belichik. If we could pick up a big name has been it might be our best path back to relevance

Hey we just landed 3-4 guys who never played at big programs in place of all-conf level starters that are all going to our biggest rivals in the SEC in Ole Miss and UT. We're so back!

Not unless he finds some oddly middle aged looking kid named Trom Badey in the transfer portal
