All of a sudden this needs to go away? This was never an issue when it got announced months ago, but now is the time for everyone to complain? I still think they should've made it either 8 or 16 teams because byes are dumb anyway, but complaining now when Bama and Miami got jumped (and rightfully so got jumped) is Kiffin levels of sadness.

Byes have literally zero to do with Alabama getting in or not, nor does his argument in this video.

One thing that has puzzled me and I have not seen covered by the esteemed posters of the SEC Rant is how could Saban retire before trying to make a run and win this playoff? Seems like him trying to go out winner of the first playoff would have been enough to keep his competitive interest. Now he is popping up everywhere with Ms Terry on TV and its just sad really. Doesn't make alot of sense.

Because he's 73 years old? The current oldest coach in college football is Kirk Ferentz at 69 and the next oldest is KC Keeler at 65. So the 3rd oldest coach in college football, if Saban was still coaching, would be almost a full decade younger than him. He's old.

He appears to be sitting in on all these Saturday shows and commercials ok. I was hoping he would take his arse to the lake in Georgia like he promised. Now I cant turn my TV on without seeing the old guy. He must have enough money. Strange situation.

Maybe he wants to be a grandfather to his grandkids and not babysit 17-22 year old mercs?

Hey did yall know Greg McElroy is a Rhodes scholar. I do because the announcers used to say this about 30 times a game when he played. Now this guy is calling games on TV. Was hoping he would use his tremendous intellect to do something more beneficial to society.

Regular season and conference titles matter.

Sorry, not trying to derail this thread. I dont like this TV Saban. I dont have any idea what Greg thinks about this and I would not watch this video if I was on fire and Greg had a cup of water.

ESPN and it's cackle of Bama homers got a does of their own medicine - do you think they would have been singing the praises of Ole Miss or South Carolina in this situation?

Rece, McElroy, Saban, Roman Harper, Finebaum, Ingram on Fox, Danielson on CBS all tried their best but failed

OP, Greg McElroy is not liked by many Bama fans because he goes out of his way not to root for Bama.....It may just be possible that he doesn't like the playoff system and this has nothing to do with Bama. Stop letting your hate of Bama drive your posts.
