It means your OL can get away with holding. That's about it.
More deep drops and extra pats since your tackles get away with murder.

The Big Ten treats lineplay like Gladiator School. Outside of punching a dude in the face, tackling a pass rusher from behind or straight up chop blocking in broad daylight, you're fine. DL can't deal with it? That's on them.

I know they played an easier schedule but I really don’t understand how they only lost to UGA with how bad their oline is. Soft AF.

It wasn't a Big 10 officiating crew but when Ohio St. faced UGA in the playoffs, their OL looked well versed in the art of tackling.

There's a knack to it I guess. USC didn't educate their OL and instead decided to play a freshman turnstile at RT and he got caught a few times when he wasn't just Lookout blocking.
That's more a Riley thing though. USC could have won 8 or 9 games if he didn't think it was an insult to his high holy Quarterback guruness to run the ball 35 times.

I think it was destined for USC to have a rough year. New QB(s), new opponents, lots of travel. I think they'll get used to the travel routine and schedule. Maiava has potential.

P.J. Fleck basically called Riley out in the post game saying something along the lines of "Well they were running the ball well, but we knew they wanted to pass."
Riley is willfully ignoring a functional running game. The majority of their losses were close and could be approximately summarized as this: Running game is somewhere from getting by to working great, but let's throw it 45-50 times instead.
It's like he felt it was insulting to have to rely on a run game when he's a QB guru. Unfortunately, they can't all be Heisman winners.
