It's not wrong. SC is the best school in the state.
When my wife went back for her masters after we moved to the upstate, she got it from SC rather than Clemson despite Clemson being a shorter drive.
Because it's a better school.
She still is a UGA fan due to getting her undergrad there. But it's funny as hell when we attended SC/UGA games in Columbia surrounded by SC fans and she'd cheer for UGA the entire game... then sing the SC alma mater in the 4th quarter and toast. The SC fans didn't quite know what to think.
