And look at the situation dispassionately

Saban left the program in a bad spot, its just what it is. We have a lot of highly ranked undisciplined knuckleheads. Nick is th GOAT, no doubt, but softer gentler Saban let the standard collapse the last few years, and you end up with a team that basically unionized to dictate who's playing. It was bad enough that it made the GOAT quit. Its still a super talented roster, but the supposed leaders of the team are the reason its playing schizophrenically. Also, the timing of Saban quitting meant that the coaching market was pretty bare. DeBoer was going to bring over a chunk of his Washington staff and then 2 of them screwed him over. I think our coordinator situation is a matter of having to take what you can get and hoping for the best

Deboer is a good coach, and he showed up an did what worked for him everywhere else, but what hes was not used to was the level of entitled frickups he was going to have to deal with. Maybe we needed a different style of coach who was going to come in a crack skulls, but i think everyone realizes that sort of thing is over. Your players are millionaires and can just transfer out at will. Saban himself, the goat disciplinarian, couldnt handle it.

Im reserving judgement until he gets a chance to actually run the system we brought him here to run. Milroe has proven he cant run it even dumbed down to preschool level. He cant read a defense and everything hes doing in predetermined, even if it supposed to be a read. It works just enough to keep us winning unless the other team defense has it dialed exactly what hes going to do. I want to see what the team looks like when these cancer players are gone.

This is exactly why I'm not ready to call for Deboer's head just yet as I highly doubt there's a single coach in the country right now who'd win with Milroe at the helm of the offense.

But his leash is gonna be extra slim next season.

Agreed. But I think that he should have recognized from the start that Milroe was a terrible fit for the offense.

Agreed. I wouldn't say Saban left the program in a "bad spot." But things have definitely slipped and that was evident starting 2022.

But we have to give CKD a chance. Year 1 in a tough SEC, most of these coaches are in year 1 in the SEC. It's obvious there are personnel issues and those have been discussed at length here.

CKD needs to learn from this season. Maybe the way he handled this season was the best way and we just don't know it yet, time will tell. But the dude has won everywhere, let's see what happens. I'm just disappointed as everyone else in this season, but we can't be firing coaches after 1 or 2 years

He probably did, but his first day he was in desperation mode to keep as many players & recruits as he could & Milroe helped him do that. It would have been really tough to just dump the guy who nearly led his team to the NCG & did everything he could to help his new coach keep his new team together.

It's amazing all these circumstances that have come together for us to be stuck with this guy at QB.

The kid just ain’t a QB. I do think he actually tried to help Deboer keep the roster. Loyalty still means something. I know he needed to be pulled because he sucks. But my goodness what a predicament.

I know that it would have been tough. But you have to take some early lumps to get long term benefits. Milroe is a cancer and bad fit for a passing offense. I think that at the very least Ty should have been given a legitimate chance to compete for the job in the spring. Instead, DeBoer let Milroe run the program and call the shots.

I'm dying to know how CKD handles the situation moving forward. Milroe is not going to make more money at another school next season & he damn sure is not going to be a high draft pick. Does Deboer just politely tell him he's moving on? Does he possibly let his his whole career hinge on Milroe next season?

I can't take another season depending on whether or not Milroe finally "gets it".

Milroe should not play another snap as the Alabama quarterback. Last night was the straw that broke the camel’s back. DeBoer needs to grow some balls and call the shots in this situation:

Ty needs to start the Auburn and bowl game, but it probably won’t happen. I’d be more supportive if he’d make a change at QB. Good defenses shut Milroe down.

I don't see him switching now. The damage has already been done. Hopefully Ty & Mack get equal playing time in the bowl game & we find out who's the man going forward.

I'd rather lose with ty than lose with milroe.

What DeBoer didn't realize is that you can't take games off in the SEC like you can in other conferences.

No forgiveness for the coaching staff being completely unprepared for the games against Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. Those are inexcusable losses.

The fans thinking it's the players are going to be in for a rude awakening when the players that everyone is blaming are gone next year and the losses are still happening.

DeBoer should have sacked up and yanked Jalen in the Tennessee game. This season has been a waste because of #4.

The season is done. No playoffs now so the goal should be getting experience for guys and beat Auburn. Sit jalen down and tell him thanks.

Loses happen, most of us can deal with losses. It's the shite show that we're seeing that has us going nuclear.

I think Deboer made a mistake hiring two inexperienced coordinators. Coordinators with experience know how to make adjustments. These two do not.

This has to be the only logical explanation at this point.

If Millroe helped him save the roster, great, but that debt at this point is paid.

I’m not disagreeing with you. Just a real problem to deal with it. Even Saban couldn’t manage it and his demeanor and control is far beyond Deboer. I’ve heard milroe basically kept the roster in tact. Glad it’s not me making that decision. Truly pray he moves on after the season and we can all split peacefully. He’s won a ton of games and lost some bad ones. I don’t think he’s a bad kid, he’s just not good at processing. I do truly believe he bleeds crimson and loves the university. Probably feels responsible a lot of times for making things happen and just can’t do it.
