That I can't statnd. Before you say, it's because he beat our arse, it's not. B/c I've had no problem turning on a game and watching Stafford and Knoshawn or even JPW and the tide. But I just can not sit through a game of watching this kid with out getting pissed off. The running down the sideline shite to pump the crowd till a Ref has to come get him, throw a fricking flag, it's not like it's the first time he did it and didn't know.
I know he's the golden boy and superman and realy a good valued kid, But I cannot stand to watch him. It's even worse durring an interview.
But I can't realy figure out what the hell it is thats gets to me soo much?

To me its the way the media shoves him in our face. They praise him as the second comming of Jesus Christ. And they talk about how humble he is. But all you see in your face is that punk grin and him being his own cheerleader.
The guy is a great athlete. I will not deny that. But do they and he have to pound it in our face like we are too stupid to figure it out for ourselves?

Tebow is not my favorite player but I don't get the distinction between him and Stafford except his success. The media fawning over a player does get old but it's not his fault.

I think the announcers just like to say his name. It's like "Tim Tebow" just rolls off their tongues nicely and they love it.
He's a super athlete, but if you had the OU QB Bradford running that offense, with those weapons (Harvin, Demps, Murphy, etc.) He'd win, and more of the credit would be going to the coach, team, program, and other stars on the team.
My only problem is the amount of credit that Tebow gets for UF's success. Tebow at another school with other surrounding talent would not be such a big deal.
That being said, I love the guy (person) and think he's a shining star for what a college athlete should be. Hard working, dedicated, morally together, etc. I'd love him at LSU for sure.

It is very simple. Two reasons.
1. He is not a Tiger.
2. He claims to be a Christian, and actually lives it.
That usually really disturbs people, because we all struggle so hard to live a righteous life. With Tebow, it is hard to reconcile his competitive spirit with the Christian walk. I don't see it as a contradiction, but it could be viewed that way.

Because he was home schooled and socially awkward.

I think he's great. Great player and seemingly great young man, too. When he expresses his faith,it comes across as genuine.

He always has a goofy look on his face.

A lot of people do not like Tebow because he is what they will never be, a highly talented sucessful, natural born leader.

If he was a Tiger you would be in love with him!

On the Rant, Ghandi would get a similar critique.

He get's to me because of all of these idiots posting in this thread.
"Great human being"
"Righteous"
"He's not a Tiger"
None of these petty posts really answer the question do they? They just sound like the "bahhhh" of little sheep.
Tebow like to preach? HE'S THE GREATEST PERSON EVA! Please. Just because the guy loves God doesn't make him Jesus Christ Superstar.
So, to answer your question--Tebow get's on my nerves because he isn't normal. He's a good player (and person I guess), but he sure isn't humble. I respect a humble person.

That I can't stand
It's the fact that he thinks his encouragement and approval is needed at every possible moment of the game and probably even in practice. It's the arrogant assumption that no one can do it or it won't be done right if he doesn't somehow get involved in the situation. When he does it so over-the-top like he does, it's an in your face attempt to take away another's autonomy and one's own motivation. It's saying, "I don't think you can do it unless I tell you to do it." If I were a defender on Florida's team, I would tell him to go sit his arse down.
I probably need to clarify a statement above. I say attempt to take away autonomy...I may be wrong about that. He probably doesn't realize that is what he is doing. I think he's probably blind to how annoying it is truthfully. He is a good kid trying to do the right thing. He is just all up in peoples boundaries and no one likes that even if it is coming from Superman.
For the most part, the kid is humble but in this regard his lack of humility is unbelievably huge. If he tries to do that kind of stuff in the NFL, he will get blasted. He will get humbled really quick. And if he keeps it up, people will eventually just tune him out.

I cant stand Meyer and have always hated Florida VERY much but how can you hate Tebow?
Every father wished they had a son like Tebow.
He is one of the best college football players of all time and commands respect.
Hate him all you want but the kid is VERY impressive!

Then don't watch him play - your rant is absurd and you actually embarrass me, that you have LSU attached to your name.
No one is perfect - I didn't care for Tebow crying for no flag on his intentional grounding that wasn't called against Alabama, but big deal.
Why do blatant idiots like you hate the guy for no reason?
