It is.
That's why Vandy gave Texas a scare, Arkansas only lost by 10 and even MSU kept it to one score at the half.
The only teams Texas really crushed the whole game were UF and... well Oklahoma. OU doesn't really count yet.

You kind of have to beat some of the good teams too.
Texas is 0-1 so far against SEC teams in the top 9. Their wins are against #10, #11, #12, #13 and #16. They play #15 this weekend.

MSU gave UGA a shootout. Kentucky almost beat that arse (1 point game lol). Florida was tied with UGA with 7 min left in the game and a third string QB playing. Auburn was a 1 score game at half.
I mean this logic is almost as bad as when you said “Texas has slow fronts because of sacks”.

And? Had we won vs. Georgia, we'd still have to win out to go to Atlanta. The Georgia loss will only matter if we lose to Kentucky.
