I seriously doubt that. If you make it then it shouldn’t count against you. Why punish someone for accomplishing something?

I don’t think they should hold a loss against a team that makes it to the conference championship game unless it meets a certain criteria (i.e., getting severely blown out and just clearly not showing up or something).

That would mean we finished second in SEC & the third, fourth, & possibly fifth place teams make it over us. Doesn't really make sense.
I think the last thing the conference commisioners want is a) fans wanting to get rid of the game & b) players, coaches, & fans hoping they don't even qualify for the game.
