Allow me to rephrase: It doesn't work consistently.
Or anywhere close to consistently, given the .380 record LSU has at home against Bama.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the win two years ago, given that record, is a statistical outlier, not evidence that Death Valley at Night (TM) works.

I just remember Shaun Alexander running up and down that field and the stat that said Bama at night at LSU was a 90% win. There are always outliers.
