Do we really want to make it to Atlanta? I think not!

Not when winning out puts us in the playoffs and gives us a home game (5 through 8 seed).

Whereas going to Atlanta and losing knocks us out of the playoffs because no 3 loss SEC team will make the playoffs.

I would rather play a 12 seed in Tuscaloosa as a play in than play Texas in a one and done in Atlanta.

Hopefully Tennessee beats Georgia and goes to Atlanta. Even if they beat Texas, we are still in. If they lose to Texas, we are in and they are out.

Not a logical take. Sure we may win. But our chances of losing to Texas is much greater than losing that opening playoff game in Tuscaloosa.

I'll tell you exactly what will happen. If Bama, Ol Miss and Tenn win out, we are in 100%. If Tennessee wins out, and beats Texas, we're still in. If Tennessee wins out and loses in Atlanta, we are still in.

But, if Tennessee loses to Georgia and we lose in Atlanta, Ol Miss is in. Georgia may be in. AND we are out.

I don't even want to risk going to the citrus bowl and watching freakin Ol Miss in the playoffs.

Win the SEC Championship Game and Alabama is in. Texas is overrated with a very easy schedule. Georgia played awful and still beat them by 15.

With all the upsets the last few weeks, Bama might not even have to win the SECG to get in. There's a good chance they win an at large bid if they win out and even if they miss the SEC title game

Look, we may beat Texas. But we put up 100 yards pasing tonight and have a lot of inexperience in the secondary. We may lose to Texas.

Sure, I want to play them. In the National title game

Anything can happen. A three lose team getting in is a long shot.

Who said it was a logical take? Everybody else losing through the end of the season. We going to Atlanta, we winning. 3 more wins we lifting a Natty. Mack takes the reigns. None that other stuff is relevant.

I'm saying Bama wins out and finishes 10-2, misses the SECG, but still makes the playoffs

I understand your take. I feel all those emotions as well. But the odds of us winning national championship are better if we beat Mercer, Oklahoma and Auburn and then waltz into the playoff than to play a do or die battle with Texas in Atlanta, and then have to beat them again and/or Ohio Stste in the playoffs.

I agree. We are definitely in and definitely get a home game if that happens. We will be in the 10th spot tomorrow. In three weeks we will be in the top 8 and will host a playoff game.

Will be plenty of melting in the CFB world. Saw plenty of idiots trying to argue A&M, LSU, and Boise State at minimum should've been ranked over Bama last week. Saban permanently broke their minds over the last several years

I think we’ll be 8th. I don’t think BYU will stay ahead of us and wouldn’t be surprised to see Miami behind us

Nope. I hope to avoid that land mine and host a first round playoff game. Atlanta is not much to gain and everything to lose. Especially coming in with 2 losses. Love the SECCG but Hard pass.

Teams will not be punished for losing conference title games.

I tend to agree with this, but the 4 team playoff era did not prove this out for the SEC.
If memory serves me correctly, only Georgia in '21 is the only SEC championship game loser to still make the playoffs.

A potential first round bye is pretty damn valuable

If we aren't good enough to win in Atlanta then we aren't good enough to win the Natty. So let's go to Atlanta and kick someone's arse and show we're still the class of the SEC. What a loser mentality.

Walk me through this: I got smoked last night so I probably missed this break down.

So the fact UGA lost means Bama is in the SECCG or what scenario has to unfold for us to be in?

Also my opinion is no SECCG get the number 5 bid it’s the best in the playoff. It’s better than the bye of top 4 because 12 plays 5. So the worst team in the playoff and then we play 4, worst team of conference champs.
