In my limited free time, I've been patrolling the Bama boards and have cone across some gems of their melt:
- What have we become?
-Glad we are a basketball school now.
-Tennessee fans celebrating for their qb’s throw, their WR saved their arse on that touchdown. Tennessee still sucks!
-Milroe is horrible, give Simpson a shot.
-I will get banned for this, but I’ll give credit where it’s due. Tennessee is legit.
-Defense sucks, offense sucks, please come back Nick!
-Losing to Tennessee sucks so bad.
-I hate these orange *************
-Tennessee never quit and we did. End of story.
-Need to get my Xanax upped with this team!
-Dangggggg..I bet Panini is rethinking their decision to endorse Jalen now with that NIL deal..
-I guess this is the spiral after a legendary coach leaves no matter how much talent he left behind.
-I don’t recognize this team at all since the UGA game, I just don’t get it.
-This loss was more embarrassing than Vandy given they gave us the game on a platter and we don’t take advantage
-UcheaT had 3 turnovers I remember. Down by 7 at half. It is time for someone to take the wheel
-Nico is the worst QB in the SEC and he out dueled Milroe. Unbelievable.
-Milroe has been injured for 3 weeks, did anyone really expect him to play better?
-Milroe has to go, he doesn’t have it.
-I cannot believe we lost to freaking Tennessee! They’re the worst team ever and we lost!

I will say it again. Alabama rarely loses in football. But when they do lose, statistically it is to the Vols. We have beat them the most times (40) than any other team. And no one has a longer win streak against Alabama, than UT (7) does.

That's the tamest melt I've ever seen. It's because in general, Bama fans are pretty realistic about the quality of play and the ability of their team. Expectations are different story, we definitely set our expectations too high. But the fact is, we've watched a lot of good football and knows what it looks like when a team is playing good. Therefore we also can recognize pretty quickly when something's off.
As far as this year, the talent is obviously there, it just isn't being used properly at the moment. We'll see if Deboer can right the ship, but it isn't looking good so far. If you can't use a loss to Vanderbilt as a wake up call to the team, you probably lack what it takes to properly motivate the current players.

At 37 wins, AU has the 2nd most wins over Bama behind UTk with about 20 fewer games played. Highest win % over Bama for traditional SEC schools.

You clearly haven't been paying attention. They have been in full meltdown mode hard ...so hard that many of them feel completely demoralized and are convinced they aren't any good this year and that Doboer ain't the right guy. This is very early in his tenure still to be acting that way.
