He was always overhyped as a coach. For whatever reason people were convinced he was a slam dunk hire when he was hired. One 10 win season a decade ago at Ole Miss is all he has.

The same people that thought he was a slam dunk are trashing him. SingleMalt, Chex, all of them.

I tell them we can't fire him now and they call me a troll. lol

He won’t get fired this year. He should have never been hired is the point I continue to bring home.

I cant say I wanted Freeze initially but he's here now. As long as his recruits are on still on board then we should be too. His recruits are why it still doesnt feel like rock bottom even though it is.

Never on board with losing and poor coaching. I hope the recruits stay cool with it though.

Nobody is on board with losing. If you fire him you can expect much more of it nearterm. If you hold onto him you can hope we get turned around.

In the real world the mass exodus begins after the firing then you're back to rebuilding.

And then you're back to wondering does this guy make it.

Who are all of them? I don't recall anyone flat out campaigning for Freeze. A lot of us are still in a wait and see how recruiting turns out mode.

And that is with paid players at both stops.

I don't remember. I just remember the most vocal Freeze supporters that argued everything from Ole Miss /Liberty days, scandals, and so on. Most of the anti-freeze fans had a moral issue than anything.

There is no way we can our should fire him. He gets 4 years for proof of concept.

Depends on what post season looks like. If he turns in a 2-4 win season, he's going to have to earn his recruiting rep to not only keep his 24 class together, but limit the damage when the portal opens. Then he HAS to get a starting level QB in the portal, something he has failed at to date. He will also need starters at OL most likely. Then next season, the flames are squarely on his buttocks to produce. If he turns in another losing season, he's gone. No year 4. I suspect 8 wins will be fully expected at the least.

Let's say we fire Freeze; we're left with 2 options. We can attempt to hire the diamond in the rough but largely unproven coach or we can hire a proven championship winning coach.

Are you ready to gamble with the former? Maybe someone that proves to be a not-so-good recruiter and coach. Another Billy Napier?

If you favor the latter, name the coach you think would come. This job isn't seen by the coaching community like it is by the fans. We couldn't even get Lane to leave Oxford. I just don't think it's a viable option.

So, we'd be left rolling the dice for someone who could set this program back 3 or so more years.

Sticking with Freeze is the only realistic option there is, imo.
