Not understanding the A&M hype....

Really, though. They blew out Missouri. That could possibly mean that A&M is scary good in a dark horse way and justify the hype. Or it could mean that Mizzou was way overhyped/overrated. Or some combination of the two.
Regardless, someone explain the resurgence in popularity and hype for A&M being a top dog in the SEC. Is it simply because of recency bias and they benefit from blowing out an unknown Mizzou and then had a bye week to continue floating on that cloud nine?

What hype? A few figs running their pie hole on sec rant.

Wut?
There is no "hype." ALL that is being said by reasonable, non-biased fans is that A&M is showing signs of improvement and that, if they play up to their potential, they could make a run at the CFP or even the SECCG. Our team is still a question mark and will remain so until after we play LSU.

You are saying you haven't seen respected posters talking about A&M potentially or having the best track to the SECCG?

I don’t see them as a contender and also Missouri isn’t what they were projected to be.

What "respected posters?"
And yes, we can potentially make it to the SECCG. That's not "hype," that's logic.

You can say the same about us. This is week is our first real test.

Exactly. We are a 8-4 program till otherwise. No hype here at all. Will be lucky as hell to win and sec road game this weekend.

Personally, I think we're an 8-4 program even if we go 9-3.

I’ve said this on a few other posts but to me, A&M is the only SEC team that looks like they got better each week. Really can’t say that about any other team including Texas.
Are they capable of laying an egg this weekend? Absolutely. But so far their trajectory has been a slow and steady up.

Our defense has been lights out and we looked like a far better team with Weigman at the QB position. Obviously a small sample size but if you are being honest, you could say the same of Texas who really hasn't played anyone leading up to the Georgia game

This is just a shot in the dark, but it might have to do with A&M being #1 in the SEC standings.

I don’t see any hype.
We’ve gotten significantly better each week, we have one loss (to a top 10 team), and several phases of our game that were liabilities last year are strengths this year (esp OL).
We control our destiny. That’s about the extent of it.
No hype.

Assuming they handle business at State, they are essentially a win against LSU from clinching a playoff birth if they hold serve until the Texas game.
