I crapped my pants walking back to our hotel room at Coronado Springs resort at Disney World.
This resort is huge and it took a 10-15 minute walk to get to our room from front.
Halfway through it hits me a thunderous force and I begin the fast pace penguin walk while clenching for dear life. We’re on second floor but stairwell is closer and quicker than elevator. The walk up the stairs got me, and I crapped myself opening the door. Crapped, showered, and then walked the trash bag with my crapped briefs to the trash chute.
2006 by default bc only one I was alive for lol.
But man, we physically beat the hell out of Duke in the Sweet 16.
Everybody remembers GT suffocating JJ but big baby and tyrus made dukes AA big Sheldon Williams look like a JV player. That number one overall seed Duke team was so athletically inferior to LSU that night.
Big Baby’s 3 against Texas to ice the Elite 8 game will also always be remembered.
Wisconsin just had to lay an egg against Duke in the final.
Screw the NCAA for matching UK/WISC in the final 4. I think Wisconsin was the one team that actually matched up well with UK. I don’t think Duke would’ve beaten UK.
Wisconsin may have not emotionally recovered before the championship game.
Duke has been hated by the masses for nearly 40 years. This isn’t some new trend tbh. If anything, the hate has probably gone down just a bit since K isn’t the coach anymore. Similar to Bama without Saban.
The apex of Duke hating was no doubt the 90’s starting with Laettner and company and going through those wimpy white guards they always had that slapped the court like a bunch of douches lol
I’ve always said this format is one of the worst ways to crown a champion but darnit, it’s far and away the most entertaining and enjoyable.
You have to win 6 straight do or die games and in theory your opponent gets tougher each subsequent round.
Feels like college basketball is the sport you remember the great teams who didn’t win it all, the most.

I hate Duke just as much as the next guy but Scheyer is a good coach who is doing a great job following a legend, which is never easy to do.
Yea, his teams have had some bad collapses but these happen to the best of the best in this sport sometimes.
It took Dean Smith 21 years before he won the big one, and heck he “only” won it twice in 37 years.
It historically has taken college basketball coaches a long time before they finally win the big one.
That said I hope Duke never gets it again, but Scheyer is bound to win one eventually if he keeps assembling rosters like this.
It’s been mentioned but 83 NC State might be number one.
Watch the 30 for 30 Survive and Advance.
That whole run was absolutely incredible.

Trey Burkes shot against Kansas in 13 deserves a mention.

It seems like every 3rd person in Evangeline and St. Landry parish is a Fontenot and just about every person has Fontenot blood in them.

I had a class at LSUE with around 60 ppl in it.
We had 9 Fontenot’s and only 2 were knowingly 3rd cousins or closer.
It’s also an elite, small, private university that most ppl can’t get into or afford.
So 99% of Duke fans are bandwagon fans with no affiliation to the university.
I believe most ppl in North Carolina are more fans of nc state and UNC.
Then, of course it’s media love they get when Duke basketball is as dirty as they get but the media covers them as saints.

Too much smoke about Self retiring, think it’s inevitable.
2 premier blue blood openings will cause the coaching salary market to adjust.
It actually sounds like UNC will do a true job search.

The fact this man had a 15 point lead in the championship game of his first season still blows my mind.
Of course, he blew it and never came remotely close again.

I walk around the lake everyday for my lunch break.
There are no signs saying you can’t fish, just signs saying don’t eat the fish.
I see ppl fish pretty often when I walk and have never personally witnessed someone getting run off.

The amount of Mexican squealers, dos gris and mergansers that lake holds during the winter is crazy.
Thousands raft up on the lake.
Makes me nervous those divers are eating, and eventually fly off, get shot and some poor bastard is eating a contaminated duck.
I’d welcome back Wade in a heartbeat but am not please were seemingly in a Wade returns or McMahon is back for a lame duck year.
We should be shooting for the best coach we can realistically get that fits LSU. Heck, that still might be Wade.

My expectations are make the tournament almost every year which Wade has accomplished as a coach.
Occasionally compete for the sec championship and make a deep run.

For those saying Wade hasn’t done that yet. I’m convinced the 2019 team was a final 4 caliber team if he coaches them in the tournament without which means no distraction ever happens.
That was easily his best and most complete team top to bottom.

Allegedly,
My cousin popped a 9 footer a few years ago with his .17 on his private pond. He then took his boat and treble hook and snagged it. He dragged it to shore and hooked it up to his tractor. He took it to his shop and began processing it.
Once again, allegedly of course.

In a developed neighborhood, I’d just contact WLF and let them handle it legally like another poster said.

I saw a recent article that said our population is around 3 million.
They need to up these recreational tags and stop making farms return a certain percentage back to wild.
They are a beyond fully recovered animal.
During high school summers at 15-16 worked with a plumber who specialized in construction doing rough ins.
That worked sucked but I made $8 an hour cash when minimum wage was $5.50.
My dad loved getting me crappy, outside jobs in my youth.
It worked bc I stayed in school and got a cushy office job.
Burden stock through the roof now.
As a Rome owner, this is also big but he needs to be consistent. Room is less crowded though which is a plus for him, burden, and Loveland.
We’ve stayed at Bay Lake the last 2 years. My wife rents points through DVC and it’s much cheaper than booking rooms at the contemporary through Disney itself.
It’s so so nice to be able to walk back to room after fireworks at MK when everybody else has long waits for transportation.
With young kids, it’s so quick to get back to room from MK at any point of day.
The convenience factor is absolutely real.
Staying off site or at the value resorts increases travel time to the parks. The more expensive ones get you to the parks much quicker.
I grew up and lived in Lafayette until I was 20. Been in BR ever since and I’m 35. I like BR and have lived in 70808 and 70820 so the nicer zip codes. I loved Lafayette and wouldn’t hate moving back but my job is tied to BR.
Lafayette definitely has a small town feel for mid size city.
It’s also much cheaper than BR as far as child care, and education. Plus if you live in brousssrd, youngsville area you can utilize public school. In EBR, private school is almost a must unless your child can get into gifted. The local BR private schools are a lot more expensive than TCH and STM.

re: Best fishing ponds in BR

Posted by LSUbub12 on 3/2/26 at 10:47 am to
The fishing is probably still good bc it’s a huge lake and I’m sure ppl are keeping some. I kept the sac a lait and knew quite a few who did the same.
The problem is it’s private and that complex has a gate. So getting in would be difficult and know idea if they’d run you off.
There is a neighborhood closer to the Burbank side and you may be able to try from there. Not sure if it’s gated or not but on google earth, backyards of houses might be backing up to the lake.
We took our almost 3 year old and almost one year old in March 2025 and had a great time!
Both grandmas came to help which was a plus. The one year old was easier than the 3 year old tbh but both handled the trip well. Plus, kids under 3 get in for free and can just eat off of your plate.

My wife and I took our now almost 4 year old last month and left the 2 year old with grandma. It was such a fun trip.

We plan on going back with both in March 2027 again before we take a few years break to allow both to be tall enough to ride everything.
