A reasonable expectation for Saturday

Enough of the nonsense. He is what I expect on Saturday.
Good on Good. Bamas O Vs Vols D. This is all about limiting Milroe. Keep him from beating you with him legs and accept that Bama will get chunk plays and limit them to FGs and you win the battle. Their will be miscommunication on the D and they will hit him early and often but can Tennessee limit him.
Bad on Bad Vols O vs Bamas D. Vols are going to run until Bama stops them but can the Vol exploit the Bama secondary. The Vols TEs have gone MIA can they be a factor. How many turnovers will Bama get. Will we see a Matthews or Brazzell absolutely make a name this game?
On paper I’m taking the under at 56 and taking the +2.5 in what will likely be a race to 21. Vols by 6.

Bama has seen the T Will blueprint. Vols are toast.

They are a tough rivalry game for us no matter the gap in talent and skill.
With that being said, how do.you know they are terrible this year exactly?
On paper, they have plenty of talent.
The only teams they have lost to are all pretty stout right now. Miami, Aggies and Vols.
Same thing with Arkansas...they are only a few plays away from being 6-0. They are a Petrino team now not just Pittman.

Here's what I expect:
Alabama comes out and scores a couple of TD's early, starts celebrating the win in the second quarter and shite talking on the field. Prolly at least 2 unsportsmanlike penalties. Alabama goes up 17-0 at half.
Tennessee proceeds to go in at halftime and look at film, make adjustments, and scores 4 TD's in the second half to win 28-17. Alabama has no answer for the dreaded off tackle run, and shovel passes up the middle.
Malachi Moore takes full control of the defense in the 4th quarter, calling plays himself, at one point he runs over to the sideline and takes the headset off Woemack and throws it into the stands. Coach DeBust says in his postgame presser that Moore is a good young man and a leader in the community.

Pretty good summary.
I don’t see a win unless we can do something different on offense. Bama’s defense may be bad enough to be the spark.
Strength v strength, I’d still give their offense an edge over our defense.
It’ll probably be a one possession game in the final minutes. If Bama’s offense has decent field position they win. If we had bad position and need to score, Bama probably still wins.
They are going to force us to throw and sell out to stop the run. If we can’t protect Nico enough to give him time to throw, it’ll be a long day. If we can make them pay with the passing game, it is the only path I see us winning the game.

The bammer coaches literally don't know how to do this.

I expect we'll show up.
We'll run it up to 35-0 or something like that and then barely win the game at 42-38 or something like that.
Good luck, Smokeydrunk.

I think that’s a pretty fair analogy. It may simply come down to turnovers. Alabama offense has to learn to slow down and find that long grinding drive where they increase their time of possession.
In the South Carolina game our defense played 42 minutes of the entire game and they can’t hold out like that. Our D will have to find a way to get off the field for us to have a chance to win this game. I’m going to say Bama by 3.

I am going to assume the Alabama DC calls a better game.. I cannot give reasonable support to that hope but it is a must. If that is the case I think the game will swing on three error catagories and two personnel match-ups.
Error catagories -
Self inflicted penalties / both teams have their issues here
Turnovers
Big plays
Match-up -
Nico vs Sabb - Nico has not been great at using his eyes to move the safeties. Sabb has been realy bad at eye disapline and spacial awareness. If only 1 of those two players improve, that alone could make a big difference.
UTn IOL vs UA LB's - UA LB's have been great at catching blocks and RB's on their heels. If that continues rather than the LB's by some miracle learning this week to attack the LoS, UTn could have a big game running the ball.

Honestly, big test for DeBoer.
I don’t think he’s been exposed to the raw hatred two fan bases have for each other on the level of this game that bleeds over into the players.
Preparing for that kind of environment is just different.

This may be some useful insight.
Nico can’t move the secondary with his eyes because he’s running for his life.
If our OL can’t pass protect for more than 2 seconds then game over.

Couldn’t beat Arkansas, no way they beat bama. Vols offense has been bad for weeks.

Bama D has some pretty serious shortcomings. That’s apparent.
