“We have a scenario where that pops up," Kiffin said when asked if it was an element of the game that his team regularly practiced.
Kiffin, though, was just getting started. "It’s interesting, though," Kiffin continued. "I find all this national talk about someone faking an injury, and people shouldn’t do that; I’m not saying I don’t agree with.
"But, I just found it interesting that everybody thinks this is awesome that you went against the rules and put more people on the field, but then everybody’s (up in arms) when faking an injury. So just found it interesting.”
Kiffin said if a coach and team hasn't already prepared for the moment of such a hypothetical situation, it's already too late.
Then he goes into how it’s not easy to fake injuries bc it can backfire like it did vs LSU. This guy has no shame.

The only injury he ain't faking is his injured Pride.
That one's real

It’s because one took planning and coordination (with the added benefit of helping OSU lose) and the other is just someone sitting down on the field.

I generally defend the practice due to the way offenses abuse the substitution rules.
However, I'm betting after the 100th time someone put 12 men on the field, as is the case with fake injuries, people would not have the same opinion.
I see this with competitive programming. People find a way to exploit something. It's great and funny the first time it happens. But the 2nd, 3rd and so on it becomes terrible and ruins things.

I don't know of anyone who thought it was cool for Oregon to game the system like that against OSU. Legal? Yeah, at that time. But it was shady AF and everyone everywhere all at once seemed to be calling them out on it.
But sure, Lame, go ahead and gaslight the audience into thinking that the world cheered Oregon on as they "cheated" while OM gets continuously ridiculed - live and on air by the announcers - for blatantly cheating with fake injuries.

Believe it or not, Lane snaps the ball fast these days. But if you go look at the first few games, Lane was substituting the offense with 5 seconds left for the defense to sub. He got called for the false start and lost his lid it wasn’t called on the defense. So he retired that loophole.

Not sure what detour you're taking with that comment. While you - and I - may not like the way modern football has been skewed towards the offense, I don't see how playing the game within the rules as they're defined is "abusing" the rules.
Sure, I don't like when hurry-up offenses keep snapping the ball with 20 seconds on the gameclock, but that has nothing to do with OM (or other teams) abusing the system; it has more to do with the fact that LSU's offense isn't structured to take advantage of the rules as they're defined.
Big difference there, chief.
Does it suck for teams that aren't built to run their own hurry-up offense? Sure does. But that's their - our - choice, and I'm cool with that.
Just like lining up to punch in a TD with 5 seconds left in the game when you're up by 30: Does it suck? Yes, it does. But them's the rules; if you don't like it, don't whine about how unfair and unsportsmanlike the other team is for trying to get more points - GO OUT ON THE FIELD AND STOP THEM.
Or, if you think there's a blatant disadvantage, work to change the rules. Anything other than those two options just paints you as a whining infant.

You don't need a hurry up offense to abuse the substitution rules, so no idea what the frick you are going on about to be honest.

There is no abuse on the hurry up. If the offense doesn’t sub, you can’t either. If the offense subs, your defense can take it’s time getting set. If the offense subs and there isn’t enough time to sub for the defense, it’s a delay of game on the offense. The HUNH only really works if you don’t substitute the entire drive, forcing your opponent to call a timeout.

You do not need a hurry up offense to abuse the substitution rules.
Alabama has been abusing them for years while running the playclock down to near 0. Every offense in the country abuses it now.

The only way to stop fake injury’s is to make the injured player sit out of the game UNTIL the ball goes over. It will stop immediately.

What a joke. Now he's admitting to it full stop . Absolute pussy.

Can't wait for all the fans like you to watch a star player sit out an entire drive at the end of a critical game because they got a charlie horse, or took a shot in the nuts and need a moment to recover all because you cared more about punishing the people with fake injuries without and regard to the fact you are punishing the legit ones as well.
That is somehow a much better option than waiting a minute for the fake injury to be over in the few games/moments it happens.
