We'll know half way through the 1st Qtr how serious team has been. Hoping our front 4 gets to QB more than Georgia did and no turnovers. If we are as mature as we think then the cowbells won't rattle us. Ricks & Lee need to stay calm n stack good games.

Agreed, team needs to be focused and not looking past. State has played good teams closer than expected. This is where I expect to see Elko benefits over Jimbo.

How tf do you know the team is looking past State? lol

If we still had Jimbo I’d be worried. This game is tailor made for Jimbo to lose but we hired Elko for a reason and I don’t believe he’s allowing the team to over look anyone.

Agree 100% but I think we all (at least I did) felt we were gonna have to have elite QB play all season to have a good year. It’s no mystery we need Conner to be elite to go where we want to go

I hope (what a terrible word) that Mizzou game woke up an offensive monster for A&M but we’ll see

I was at the last game in Starkville and sat in game officials seats behind the A&M bench. The team was so flat. Weigman didn’t play (king did) and was totally disinterested. I saw Jimbo repeatedly berating players who didn’t respond at all. It was a miserable loss and very disappointing. I always thought more of Jimbo til I saw that game up close. They need a totally different mindset this trip. I’ll be on the other side of the field for this one

I don't think some of you realize how bad State is. They are in the conversation with teams like Purdue for worst P4 team in the country.

They’ve played some bad football, but then they’ve had moments where they played and looked dangerous as well.

You are in for a surprise. The game will be closer than you would like.

They had one half where they exploited a matchup and hit a disproportionate number of 50/50 balls. That isn’t reproducible.

We need to set out in advance what you mean, specifically. I don’t want to see you come running over here claiming you were right when they score a late TD and we win 35-21 after being up 3+ scores all day

I mean that Elko doesn't have that mentality to just beat the crap out of an appointment. If he gets a good lead, he will go conservative and drain the clock. And State historically gives A&M issues. That may have been because of Leach, but there have been many years that a "bad" MSU team played A&M close or just plain won the game.

But one, what State did under the two prior coaching staffs is irrelevant and two, this is the worst State team we’ve ever played in Starkville. People keep bringing up 2016 but that team won 6 games and was significantly better than this one. Hell this team is worse than the one we beat in 2020 that went 4-7.

This is the right thing to do when you "have a good lead" and a good defense. It tends to keep the players healthy and prevents next week's opponent from getting more film to prep with.
