I know it is shallow and irrational, but after the Vandy loss I am starting to get shook that DeBoer is morphing into Dubose in his appearance. If I hear it's a "tremendous challenge and also a tremendous opportunity" come out of DeBoer's mouth, I might slip into full blown PTSD.

A dude making $11 million a year should have at least some recognition of visuals. He looked like me dressed to watch the game from my recliner...not to be on tv with millions watching...and I thought that BEFORE we looked like shite once the game started. Nobody is saying it has to be a suit and tie, but geez...swing by the Supe Store Kalen, not Walmart.

I wouldn't want to look that sloppy in my own home. If I have to go out and get something from the store at halftime I want to look better than that.

Maybe Womack needs some self awareness if he thinks they had a good game plan and they made adjustments.

Wommack: “We’re already working” on South Carolina. “A tremendous challenge for us for sure.”

Kane Wommack
“I didn’t think we played the way the game is supposed to be played from a defensive perspective.”

Wommack thought Alabama played too much on its heels against Vanderbilt.

Wommack said Alabama has to adjust and tweak some things to get back to great third-down defense.

Wommack said takeaways were one of the keys to victory, but Alabama didn’t get any.

“When we don’t get any of our keys to victory done ... that ultimately falls on me as the defensive coordinator.”

Wommack saw a workman-like mindset from guys on Sunday.

Wommack credited Vanderbilt’s game plan.
“You look at third-down defense this past week ... not to the standard.”

“The guys are ready to respond on Saturday.”

“We’re already working” on South Carolina. “A tremendous challenge for us for sure.”

“I think we’re going to play with a level of urgency” against South Carolina.
Wommack said Alabama made some adjustments with the front and what it was doing with its defensive ends in terms of assignment responsibilities.

Wommack said Vanderbilt threw new wrinkles in throughout the game.
“Because we were not able to get off the field on third down” Wommack said that gave Vanderbilt opportunities to keep throwing in wrinkles.

Wommack on Malachi Moore: “I’m not sure anybody cares more about Alabama football than Malachi.”“(Malachi) has been held accountable for some of the actions” late in the game.

Wommack said Alabama was going to “try to settle him down a little bit” late after the penalty. (For context: Alabama looked like it was trying to sub in Bray Hubbard for Moore but Moore didn’t leave the game).

Wommack said he thinks Alabama is inconsistent in the pass rush against athletic quarterbacks. “We gave them space and gave (Diego Pavia) time to be able to make some decisions.”

Wommack said the pass rush hasn’t been consistent enough.

Wommack said the No. 1 key to victory was do your job with consistency, urgency and physicality.

It's called running contain for the whole game and not changing play calls up.

Honestly, this whole season may go off the rails this weekend if we look like dogshit again. The words of Womack, DeBoer and Sheridan are ringing hollow.

Nick Sheridan

Sheridan says Alabama didn’t do enough to win the game, so the effort wasn’t good enough.

Says Alabama needs to do better with with the possessions that it had.
Asked about Vanderbilt limited Jalen Milroe’s rushing ability.

Says the Crimson Tide used him less in the running game because of how the game flowed

Asked about Geno VanDeMark entering the game. Says players who have earned opportunity to play will do so. Says VanDeMark did some nice things, but Alabama’s collective effort wasn’t good enough.

Asked about Alabama leaderships response to Saturday’s loss. Sheridan says it’s been good so far, but he expects it to continue throughout the week.

Question about the conversation between him and Jalen Milroe after pick six early. Says Milroe’s response was great, and he didn’t let the interception impact him.

Says Alabama didn’t get as many chances to run the football as it was anticipating, in part due to playing catch-up. Says Tide needs to be more efficient and effective in that area.

Asked about Jam Miller and Justice Haynes. Says they’ve both been solid with and without the ball. “Just like I said with everybody else, we didn’t do enough.”

Says Alabama wants to be in control of the game, which comes through execution and first downs. Says four possessions were Tide didn’t do that were key.
